Hello All - New Jersey here.

I'm assuming a late 40's guy is old in ST owners circles. But hey, still want to have some fun.

This is my first turbo 4 "hot hatch" after a string of V8 vehicles including a Mustang GT, Trans AM, and Corvette in the past.

I was itching to get another manual transmission vehicle after nearly 10 years without one. The ST checked the most number of boxes for performance, value, and versatility.

Starting the mods quickly. Waiting for COBB to get their software update for my Accessport. Already told my wife I want a Magnaflow exhaust for my XMAS present. :big smile:

Ya, that's crazy. I normally don't need the train as I'm far enough out in the 'burbs to drive everywhere I need.
Welcome aboard!!!

Haha! If you're an old guy (late 40's), I'm ancient! I'll be 51 in a few days. LOL!

I've run through everything from econo-boxes and mid-sized sedans to Mustangs, Camaros, an F-150 and even Ford Ranger...and most recently a lifted 2 door Jeep JK, but have to say, of the dozens of new cars I've owned in my life, I do love my little "hot hatch". It certainly is loads of fun!!

Welcome!

63 here. I cannot mod anything because I'm chasing young kids in G street, but I feel like a kid when I hit the gas. (Not the LOUD pedal w stock exhaust) but I I have the hated symposer I cannot disconnect.

I'm hoping to get cleared for rock guards

This is turning into an old guy with ST thread.

Glad to hear I am not the only guy that is riding around, shocking people, when they pull up to my modded ST and see a middle aged guy driving. I guess it is better than when I was driving the Fiesta ST around. My wife still hates the sound of the exhaust compared to my Mustangs and trucks.

Age is only a number, you're only as old as you feel, etc... If you bought an ST it was for the soul purpose of putting a smile on your face every time you mash the gas and hear that turbo spool. And even though is has that symposer giving somewhat of a false noise inside the car, its not so bad to hear from time to time (when my woofer is turned all the way down)...

Congrats and enjoy sir!!!

Getting up early tomorrow to do my FSWerks short throw shifter plate, aluminum transmission bracket bushings, and monutune intake......

I feel like I must chime in as well...

44 here.. just got a race red st1 this month. Like most here I have had it all too...
Sport bikes, mustang gt's, f-150 ect. I recently changed job titles that required me to give up my company vehicle so I had to go purchase something. I have a 30 minute commute and was using my father-in-law's Ford focus for a little while before having to pull the trigger on a car. When I saw the ST I had to have it. Economical fun good looking and if I have to pick up my kids in an emergency not a problem. I just wish I could get past the fear of the upgrades during the warranty period!!!!

I see the cold air intakes blow off valves and all the fun stuff just terrified to mess with it....

I'm in the same boat. I have about a 30 minute commute with a ~5 mile stretch of twisties available. Plus I and can haul kids or gear in a pinch when the wife is out with the SUV. I've, however, already got past my fear of upgrades during the warranty! Just waiting for Cobb to get their June+ 2016 Focus tune done. Sitting on an Accessport V3 I can't use at the moment.....

I'll be 45 in less than a month. Bought my ST on Labor Day and wondered if I was "too old". Saw an ST at a Costco parking lot and asked the little lady what she thought. Much to my suprise she said it looked cool. Since taking ownership of my ST I've had a blast with it (I don't get really crazy with it). I also passed by two other guys this weekend that were easily 10 years my senior driving STs'. One of them had the Tangerine Scream color. A real fun car!!!
