Your website says both the 8.5 in and the 9 inch both way 18.4 pounds. How is that possible? If this is true does that mean the 9in was formed more and is therefore thinner?

Assuming thats accurate, I'd imagine its a function of the offset/where the hub face actually sits and how the spokes are oriented. The 9" are flatter on the face. Take a look at Enkie's listed weights on the same wheel size but just different offsets:

On the 18x9.5's there is a .8lb difference just because of the offset between et15 and et45. Same if you look at the 17x9 et22 at 16.35lb vs the 17x9.5 et38 at 16.25lb.
