I am not sure if i am posting this in the correct topic or not but i had a pretty straightfoward question (i hope) ... if i get a downpipe without the cat, i know i am going to throw the CEL all day. My question is, how do i get the car to stop throwing the CEL or should i just get the downpipe with a cat? thanks in advance!

if you have to ask this question and don't know how the search function works ... you should likely run a CAT, search defouler. most high flow cats will pop codes without a proper tune or defouler. you will want a stage 3 tune on hand before you bother with buying a CAT. again all things you can search and have been asked and answered over and over over again!

no reason to be a jerk about it, but thank you for the info. i dont really mind running with the CEL on but if something serious happens i may not know about it until its too late. are there any good defouler's you would suggest?

The vibrant is a good one. I made my own which was much more cost effective. I'm installing it today with a catless downpipe and a tune so we will see if it works

Get the Cobb AP.... Then get a custom tune from stratified and they will eliminate the code from popping up... That's what I did :)

I put on a catless dp a couple years ago and used a right angle "anti-fouler" to move the sensor out of the main flow. I had a stage 2 tune at the time and never once got a code. In later tunes, I specified that I had a catless dp but never specifically said turn off the sensor code. A couple years later I still have never seen a code from it. 2013 st2

for those using vibrant, which downpipe are you using with? will it work with any?
I'm running the Depo Catless with a Borla Catback and have had zero issues out of mine. And honestly I have installed the LVLs and CNT and t Depo was the best fitment of the 3. The depo can be picked up for $200 but you may be waiting a month or two for it to come back in stock. They sell out the minute they are available.

Yep anti-fouler or have it turned off in your tune, no CEL to worry about.

so i can use the AP to have the CEL turned off? sorry, im new to this as my old cars that i had i didnt care about the CEL lol
Yes with majority of tuning devices, even as old as running chips in cars (tuning on foxbody's back in the day) you can turn off the CEL for the O2 sensor. But you have to have the full tuning software to do this, just a blanket end user cant turn it off. So you will have to get with your tuner (many to choose from on the forum here) and they can help you out.
