SteamSpeed, whom started in the Subaru market, will soon be releasing a Focus ST/RS turbo soon (They having picked up an RS recently).
With testing/tuning to take place they say at RallySport Direct very soon (per their post).

Their facebook page here:

Looks like the first two turbo's they are making fit right into the entry level ATP offerings. 350HP and a 400HP potential

I for one am eager to see what they can produce, if anything, to have more choices available to us on the market.

Its always cool to have new options especially if they are going to be competitively priced but they also have to be thinking that atp as well as several other companies have already made their presence known in the st community. And that's not going to be easy to compete with.

In the Subaru world they have up ended things to a degree. Filling in a niche between cheap Chinese knockoffs and higher end brand names. I expect no less again here. Everybody has to start somewhere!

Hopefully they'll come in under $2k for a tiny turbo. I have friends with diesels that laugh at how much a larger turbo is for my car.

They offer 10-15% off sales throughout the year, so yes it can be. But one cannot compare a low volume custom cast housing turbo to a standard T3/t4 housing turbo that fits many makes/modes. So they can laugh all they want at their penis compensating rolling coal trucks. :p

Ive exchanged a few messages with them and the results for their “71R,” style turbo was done a year ago with Rally Sport Direct. Unfortunately neither of them coordinated an effort to make a post about it. Thing is, that turbo isn't made for the ST, only the “67R,” is an option. I think they (steamspeed) made a conscious business decision to not offer that model larger turbo.

They claim their turbo can/will perform just like the ATP 2867. But don't have any real world dyno runs nor public user feedback posted anywhere. They want some, and are offering dedicated folks to do so, at a discount, in exchange for that. How much? I didn't bother asking as I couldn't commit to do so and don't want to waste their time. I suggested stratified to them almost a year ago too. A real tuner familiar with the platform and not a bolt on reseller like RSD. Oh well.

However IMO whatever the "deal," you'll need a tuner that is willing to work on a new platform; which could wipe any savings had with their discount in return for review. If it smells and looks and performs like the ATP2867 and some tuners either have basemaps or free maps when you buy the turbo from them... Well that inherently has less risk and quicker time to satisfaction.

Tl;dr.... New turbo option, no real world reviews, no ecoboost tuners working on it, so not interested. Really is a shame.
