The 1.6 models do have transmission issues...
Get the plugs done first though, let us know if that changes anything before we go down that rabbit hole.
oh god.. don't tell me that
spark plugs seemed to help about 70%. Also, accidently used MAF sensor cleaner on the MAP sensor so hopefully that isn't problematic. It still has some hesitation with acceleration especially at higher speeds. It seems to shift pretty smooth still. I also cleaned the air filter which was considerably dirty. Not sure what else to address...trying to avoid the mechanic shop at all costs (no pun intended).
