Hi guys, new member here from Oxford, Mississippi.
I just picked up a performance blue ST built in April of 2012... VIN# 00069!
There's 54k on the clock now. I picked the car up to replace my aging 97 Honda prelude with almost 320,000 miles on the odometer. It still starts and drives fine, but compression was getting a little low in a cylinder or 2, so it doesn't like to idle with the AC on.
The ford is the 5th car in my current fleet, which is (in order of newness):
2017 Corvette Z51 Stingray 7MT - nice day daily, track duty
2013 Focus ST - rainy day/cold day daily, maybe cold day track car?
2001 Mazda Miata (turbo) - currently has the engine removed. For sale if anyone wants it... new top, comes with turbo goodies, stand alone ECU, mazdaspeed 6MT trans, torsen limited slip, other stuff
1997 Honda Prelude 5 speed - also for sale
1993 Nissan 240sx turbo truck - for hauling stuff for my bikes, house projects, and car projects... and occasional autocross

Vette:

Miata:

Its sort of a sleeper. Dynoed at 300whp on a mustang dyno. Runs a GT2860 turbo at about 14psi of boost.
Unfortunately a lot of my pictures are on photobucket, and I refuse to pay those nazis the sum they are asking for in order to embed photos, so you just get some links now:

Anyway, I don't have very big plans for the ST. Its pretty nice stock. I'll probably change some of the lighting around so it all matches/convert over the tail lights and such to LED. The clutch pedal feels like it has too much free travel, so I'll probably adjust that, and maybe look into changing the shifter out for a short shifter or replacing the bushings or something. Apparently big gains can be had with an intercooler and tune as well... if I get bored maybe I'll look into that, or an LSD to try to quell the torque steer.

You probably don't know the clutch is hydraulic and there are no adjustments. You might just need to get used to it. My favorite mods so far; a stratified crackle-pop tune and resonator delete (No drone, and just the right amount of sound), hood struts, brighter LED brake lights, reverse lights, and blinkers, plastic wing delete in bottom cushions (fairly easy), Hawk brakes.

Congrats and welcome. That's a pre-production model. The first 100 ST's were for the Media, so it was most likely beat-on pretty hard.

Sweet!
I looked into that pre-production thing after you mentioned it, and yeah, it sounds like they either went to a media outlet for testing, or traveled around with Ford for car shows and such.
