I recently picked up a Used 2017 ST. I was looking at the engine compartment and see that a previous owner has installed a sound symposer block off plate. But has left the rest of the Symposer hose / valve, etc. I have 3 questions:

1) Will it harm anything to drive the car like this until I get a cap to the firewall opening and complete the removal of this system?
2) Where can I get a cap for the firewall?
3) Is the way this is currently set up adding some noise into the cabin?

  1. Shouldn't do any harm. Maybe the symposer hose that goes to the manifold might get rattled around a little, but that's it.
  2. People have been using rubber plumbing plugs from the big box stores. You can bring the hose that goes from the symposer controller to the hole in the firewall with you to gauge the size you need.
  3. Probably doesn't, and if it does, very minimal.
