Hi everyone! For some crazy reason, I began thinking about selling my (3rd) Spyder last weekend, and buying a new sport sedan. Over the past 8 years, I've logged about 105,000 miles total on the 3 that I've owned. Actually; it began with me thinking about the new Miata. If I were to sell my RT-S Spyder, and replace it with a new car, it has to be one that can fulfill that fun factor that my Spyder's have all done. In the past 8 years, my Wife & I have planned vacations around riding. Many fantastic rides to be sure. Now... I'm thinking the new ST might just be the car. I did drive the new Miata. At 6'4", I was able to get in, and drive it with the top up. But; definitely, more leg room would be a benefit. Neat car!
The last couple of years, the ST has gotten my attention. Great look! I like Fords.
I have also considered the BRZ, & Toyota 86. Since the MazdaSpeed is now out of production, I think the ST is it for me since I'm trying to stay under $30,000.
Currently, when I'm not riding due to inclement weather and temps below 45, I drive a 2002 Protege ES 5 Speed. :) Still a good car with 173,000 miles. Originally; it was my Wife's car. Then; she decided that my 2007 Frontier was more to her liking! Lol!
Anyway... My situation is this. I sell my Spyder and buy an ST. If I cannot get what I want for my 2013 Spyder, I keep it, and continue to drive the Mazda and be happy!
But.... I think in the very near future, I'll be in an ST. Of course; all of my friends think I have lost my mind even considering selling my Spyder. It will be an adjustment to give up riding. Not doubt about it. We'll see.

By the way; I'm 62 years old. I love sports cars, & performance sedans.

In 1975, I owned a Fiat 124 Spider. In 1986, I had an Escort GT, and in 2003, I had a new MazdaSpeed.

I recently picked up a 2016 ST2 and I'll be 62 in Feb. I ride sport bikes (GSX-R750, SV650) so I needed an affordable car that would give me a thrill now and then. The ST does not disappoint as I've found that you can throw it into corners hard enough that you'll think you're on Mr. Toads Wild Ride. The recaro seats fit me like a glove but I'm only 6' and 150lbs. Don't think you can go wrong with an ST.

Thanks everyone!
This morning, I decided to see if there were any ST's (pre-owned) in the surrounding area.
I found a 2016 (White) certified pre-owned at a Ford dealer with about 2,250 miles on it for $20,900.
It has the 400A package plus the Moonroof, & 5 spoke wheels w/red calipers. It looks like new from the photos.
The dealer is about 150 miles from me, and they are closed today. But; I chatted with someone from the dealer, and I was told I would be contacted tomorrow. She wasn't sure if the car was still on the lot since, as she said, the inventory changes daily. But; I did see this ST mentioned on the dealer site and another search site. We will see!
