In 2013 I traded-in a 6 spd Limited 2007 Crossfire I had put 90,000 miles on for a 2.0 L Turbo AWD Titanium Escape....has everything ...even parks itself. Absolutely love it...Let's call it the wife's car....even though I put 85% of the miles on it. I then started driving a 2008 Crossfire that had mostly sat in the garage for years...back around 07-08 Mercedes and Chrysler were parting ways....bought both brand new for a total of $40,000....total stickers were about $72,000. The 08 now has 34,000 miles on it ..very pristine...BUT = AUTOMATIC. Son had a 2003 T-Bird..76,000 miles...This was one of Ford's biggest mistakes .....really bad car. I gave him my Crossfire and used his T-Bird as a trade. Now having a FULLY loaded Escape....I knew I didn't want all the fancy bull****....so I went for the 2017 ST1...only option was $30 All Seasons. Sticker $25,680.
First offer on the dealership's part was ..I write a check for about $18,500 + give them the T-Bird. I left Hard Top in my basement......by the time the 4th negotiation came around they said the T-Bird needed something like $2,800 of repair work....neither I nor my son doubt that...it was BAD. On next set of numbers they ask....is the hard top in as good of shape as the rest of the car....."Yes".....Final agreement I write check for $11,500 + sales tax ...total check = $12,980.
That was Monday....as of today...Thursday....no one has ever called to ask "Where's the Hard Top?".....If nobody calls within a month or so....Top goes on EBAY.....some want $2K.
So now I have a Kona Blue.
