Modding while under warranty

Hi all, I'm sure this isn't your first time seeing this on this forum but I DID search first haha.

I paid more to get the 6 year / 100k mile warranty, so I absolutely don't want to void that in any way. However, I'm a guy and we can't leave things alone. I have already done the symposer delete, 4 days after I bought the car. Now what else can I really do under the warranty? Honestly all I want to do for now is maybe a short throw and replace the bushings. But worst case, let's say that something in the trans breaks or something with the linkage, etc. They could void that due to the related mods, correct?

Thanks in advance for any input.

If something like that breaks just return it back to stock before bringing it in. I have the extended warranty also and my HPFP went out and I am tuned. I just pulled the tune out and brought it with no problems at all. As long as you don't give them a reason to deny it they won't. They also have to prove the mod you did caused the failure. Like having a different air filter won't void warranty on the stereo system.

Yeah I guess you can just go back to stock and hide it....makes me uneasy though.

I may just stick with the symposer delete and a shift knob for 6 years :haha:
There's always the Mountune or Ford Racing Tunes that you could get if you get the bug hard. Those have the limited warranty. There is a whole thread about it, but basically if it's found that those mods broke something, you go through Mountune or Ford Racing for the warranty, else Ford will warranty. If you decide to do that, I would just talk to someone a lot and get everything in paper work.

You could do an air filter also. That's really easy to replace if needed. Shift arms/throws/bushing/etc are all pretty easy too.

Hate to be that guy... FLAME ON! But do an exhaust and they won't care leave the stock down pipe and everyone will be happy. Change the filter to a green filter and you will hear turbo noises and when you go in for service switch back to stock all it takes is a 8mm socket.

Enjoy your new car! (I remember your user name from a Civic Si forum way back when) - I absolutely don't regret my car choice in switching. It just takes a while do get used to it being quieter. You can fix that with an exhaust and it shouldn't effect your warranty at all.

p.s. The search function on this particular forum sucks. It's best too use google.com and ':focusst.org' in your search. It'll be more helpful.

Never had a problem with the forum search function with the advanced search. I search titles only.

Sent from another garage.

Don't be fooled guys he knows the forum better than the mods haha, go check out his build and track videos.
Google does work better though. Maybe working in IT helps me out?
