Got an intake tube for my car. This is just unacceptable trash. It will not be going in the engine bay. She deserves so much better so I'm going Cobb.

Yeah the finishing on that could definitely be more refined...I'm sure it still will work properly without issue, but if it doesn't look nice that's half the battle.
The finish, the welds, that piece of flash or whatever that is in the top pick. It's all crap.

I'll stick to my gold-heatwrapped Cobb :)
That sucks. I've heard of MBRP having some fitment issues with exhausts and such also, though MBRP CBE fit perfectly and sounds great imo. Sucks that they can't be more consistent.

Luckily the company I bought this from is being real cool about it and aren't pleased themselves. They're sending me a return label and giving me a discount on the Cobb. Never planned on running an open end filter and I still may just stick with the K&N I have, but we'll see.

I would have to agree that mbrp quality is not that great, that being said I still have mbrp chargepipes, downpipe, and exhaust. Yes fitment was a pain in the ass and even with the cobb exhaust hangers it rattles. but it was dirt cheap and you get what you pay for. at least the stainless will last me even if the welds were ****
after hours of moving pipes around, the MBRP exhaust I have will never be centered in the exhaust opening without needing to cut the pipe shorter. Over-all still happy with it, but I can see why there is such a drop in price between competition and MBRP lol.

Maybe not. Check some of the 1 star reviews on their Facebook page.
depo racing is a near exact copy of the cobb
save some money

Did they put R&D into it too or just copy it? I learned my lesson. I'm not cheaping out anymore.
I've seen a couple red STs around the Buffalo area ,I may have seen you before.

Where abouts? I live in Grand Island and am usually between there and Tonawanda during the week. On Friday nights I'm usually on Grant St. at Gypsy Parlor. There is another one identical to mine around with stickers on the back window. We saw each other in a parking lot last Saturday and gave each other a holler. Mine has no stickers and yellow fog tint. What's yours?

I currently run a cobb, and due to the fact that I am always changing parts, or ripping into the engine bay, I am not that happy with it.

Their 45 degree-ish coupler to the air box is flimsy and gets a bit deformed after removing several times. The length of their hard pipe jams it too close to the airbox imho. Making airbox removal more difficult.

If I were to do it all over again, I would either drop the coin on the CP-e (so sexy, and you can't go wrong with CP-e) or get the JBR. The JBR has an extended length coupler, which will yeild more airbox clearance. This gives me a chubb, after all the times I have been pissed off at the looks and function of the Cobb. The only cobb product that was worth buying remains the Accessport. If you want to drop big coin, get a proper product for it. CP-E is pricey, but truly you get a super well designed, and very well made product. If you still want to save some coin, look into the JBR.

Do not get the depo, their products are the bottom of the barrel. I do in fact run a Depo Beast FMIC, and their FMIC's are pretty much design stolen CP-e's, but all of their piping is trash, and hardware is trash. Cheap you pay, cheap you get...
