4 banger turbo model beats out V8s in CAM-C class

I find the low buck mods to be a great acid test of real world efficacy (the anti-lag turbo killing is obviously a no-go for any team without deep mfg/tier 1 parts mfg ties):

Engine Mount Voids Filled W/Urethane
price: nearly free

Stock Intercooler w/Custom Intercooler Sprayer
team member Brendon Carr made it using a Chevrolet Volt windshield washer system

Custom Cold-Air Intake
price: maybe $300 to duplicate, says the team

PCV Catch Can Fabricated From Nalgene Drink Bottle

Note the article is from Dec 2017, so this was the 2017 Nationals. Second place went to a 2015 Ford Mustang (local Oregon driver Dennis Healey).
2018 ("the year of the flood") was a repeat of 2017, only Shaun Bailey used a 2019 Camaro to take the win over Dennis Healey by 1.235 seconds.
2019 Nationals CAM-C was won by a Camaro 1LE, but only by 0.125 seconds over a 2018 Ford Mustang (local Oregon driver James Paulson). Shaun Bailey did not participate and neither did Dennis Healey because he was rebuilding his motor for the third time.

Via indexed times, I'm still a bit off Dennis & James' pace. At least I know I can catch Dennis when he runs his VW GTI.
