How are you guys getting these mounted, the battery weights like 3lbs so I don't think it needs much bracing because it is so light.

Look into @Kevin he did it

If it only weighs 3lbs a couple good rubber bands should do it. :)

Seriously a flat piece of metal stock from the hardware store and some effort into some well placed bends should make a nice hold down.

Flat metal plate, slim metal plate for the top hold down and a couple universal battery hold down j hooks.

I'd say the mount weighs about 5 lbs.

Instead of a lightweight battery which I thought about previously how about moving the battery from it's high position on the driver's side of the car, to the right front frame rail down low in the chassis?

It will reduce center of gravity and help balance the weight over the front wheels for better traction. I found Ominiphil's post where he put his car on corner scales and found -

994 LF and 897 RF

That is nearly a 100 lbs difference left to right.

The stock battery is 44 lbs, so if you just moved the weight from left to right =

950 LF and 941 RF which is much more balanced. You can likely find the last 9 lbs with coilovers via corner balancing.

Correction, according to Omniphil the stock battery is 31.44 lbs

Still better IMHO to move the stock battery from its current location to one that will benefit the car's traction and handling. While reducing overall weight will help, that new battery will still contribute to the center of gravity being higher than is optimum.

$200 for a battery tray??? Find your local racecar fabricator he/she can likely do it for half as much.

got a way to fit the lightweight battery in and mounted in the stock box. Just don't forget to complete close all your doors, or else the battery will die. But the feeling is pretty noticeable, since the weight all compact. It felt a bigger difference then rear seat removal, and or passenger seat removal. Since their weight is spread out compared to the battery.
