Hi ST owners,

I'm in a bit of a bind with my wheels and really need some help. My lock nut key was 'misplaced' by an extremely unreliable panel beater, who is denying liability/blame. Parts manager at my local Ford dealership says that without knowing the exact code of my locknut key (which I haven't been able to find anywhere in my user manual etc.) they cannot replace it. Had to resort to smacking a 19mm socket onto the lock nuts and removing them that way. This worked a treat for two of my wheels, but when I tried the third one I completely sheared off the lip, leaving only the outer rim with the security groove pattern in tact. So now it looks like my only option for getting it off (without taking drastic measures involving cutting instruments) would be to find someone with the same locknut pattern as me.

This is my desperate attempt to find someone who might be willing to meet up and let me try their lock nut key on my car. I have a 2015 LZ ST and live in the the Maribyrnong LGA in Melbourne. Happy to come to you as well.

Please reply to this thread if you think you can help me out.

IDK man, that's rough! Personally, I'd just get the cut off wheel and go behind the rotor (hadn't done that on a Ford 'yet', but it was exposed on my Japanese cars). Get a new stud or two,and set of lock nuts. Write down the specific code in at least 2 places, take a picture and copy to your digital back-ups, and pray you never have to deal with that nightmare ever again!

If you go in from the outboard side you're going to damage the wheel for certain.

Hi ST owners,
Captain hindsight says that this right here is why those dang locks were the first things removed from my car when I drove it off the lot and got home. I lose everything if I don't break it first. I even have them still in the ford package around here somewhere.
The way I see it, if someone steals my wheels, I get a brand new set with tires from the insurance company. They aren't paying me to protect their contractual obligations.
Wish I had better advice than already given, but you don't have much room to work with there. Not sure how to get it done without rashing up the wheel. Maybe hit up a local discount tire or something and see if they have suggestions... I'm sure they deal with this stuff on the regular.
