So I just purchased a 2015 focus st for only 57K miles the other wheel. Car runs really smooth and nothing really is wrong with the car. Preview owner installed a Blow Off Valve and took off the filter box for the intake. Also, he added a break relay so it would flash then the brakes were applied. Interior is a 9.8/10. Leather seats are perfect. Only thing I found was some light scratches here and there. I also found some weird white substance i between some some panel gaps around the entire car and even some around the end of the gas cap but it comes off really easily with my nail which makes me think it’s maybe just some mineral build up? Also to me the car looks like it sits a little lower. I’m not sure if it’s on lowering springs maybe or what.

anyway my point is the car is in extremely good condition. Is there anything I should be worried about in regards to making sure it keeps rubbing smooth besides regular oils changes/ services and what not?

it’s a really fun car and the blowoff valve just sounds so good even in calm everyday driving! I have a video of the car driving as well but I can’t figure out how to post videos on here.

The white build up is wax/polish. As your car looks shiny and excellent, it's been detailed before purchase and they were "sloppy" leaving polish behind. Try a microfiber cloth instead of your fingernail.

Your car is lowered.

For my own peace of mind with any new auto purchase I'd be replacing all fluids, all, and new plugs, cabin air filter.

Read up on LSPI and understand, you can take a stock ecu DI turbo engine out with improper throttle application.

Sick car, you got the best combo imo (little biased), 15 Face-lift in last year TuxedoBlack.

ProTip: idk how much you plan on modifying the car, however at minimum I'd suggest getting a Sync3 into your car. Day and night difference that any end user will greatly appreciate.

If youre not the tinkering type, Brian over at naviupgrade sells drop in, programmed, harnessed kits that take 15 mins to install. Can save by doing it yourself, but the programming can have some nuances.

Welcome! I really like when people powdercoat the premium wheels a solid color like that. Looks so much better than the machined face.


As mentioned above, look up on LSPi and make sure you avoid it.

See about getting a replacement lid for your airbox. You want that closed off so it isn't sucking in engine bay air.

Also, look into an aftermarket intercooler. Regardless of what your plans for the car are, your engine will thank you for the lower inlet temps at the very least. The stock one is terrible.

Have you switched to your snow tires yet? I just did 2 days ago and trying to go WOT in anything below 4th gear is now just hilarious. 215 series snow tires vs ~400 ft/lbs of torque is a comical battle.

Congrats, nice looking ride! Post some pics of the front end, under the hood and shock and rear end and we can tell you if it has any other upgraded parts like a FMIC, suspension upgrade, exhaust, etc..

Previous owner may have just turned on the brake flash option using Forscan and the pshh whoosh you hear could just be from the open air box. You should check if he enabled global windows (remote open/close) and the bambi lights (high beam with fog on).

go down the menu until you find the emergency braking flash and turn it on...it will either work or it wont lol i havent tried it yet but i will be doing it next time i go in forscan for something.

someone posted thiey did this in a previous thread but never followed up on it, i believe he mentioned the exact name of the option but i dont recall. I did see it when i was in forscan messing with the TPMS, AGS and wheel circumference settings but didnt turn it on because i was having issues with the ECU accepting all the changes so i turned everything back to original settings (except Bambi & GW) and all was fine..

We already have the emergency brake flash in the ST at least in the 15+ ST in the UK and it's in the ASBuilt data either emergency flash via brake lights or emergency flash via hazard lights, default is via brake lights.

I was speaking to a colleague who was behind me in his fiesta ST and he said they flash for about 3 seconds then go constant.

appreciate all the advice! So far I love this car and it’s so fun to drive and it looks great!

and yeah I was curious because my car does look lower then other ST’s.

I haven’t gotten a chance to change anything yet but the first thing I plan on doing is getting an oil change right away and getting new spark plugs.

**I do have a question though. I noticed sometimes when I start the car and/or occasionally when I put my car into neutral the RPMs drop to around 500-600 then go back up to normal 750-800. Recently (last couple days) more often then not. Any idea why this might be happening? Any advice I can do to or is this normal because my FRS did this and my girlfriend 370z does this.

defiantly want to get a replacement air box for my air filter and I’ll defiantly consider an aftermarket inter cooler as well! Any specific brand recommendations?

I want to basically keep my car OEM+. Not to much done to it but modded tastefully so the car runs and drives smoothly. Thanks for all the advice!

They all do a great job at keeping charge temps in check. Some fit better than others. The main thing you need to look out for in today's market is whether or not they're in stock. Make some phone calls first and make sure there's physical units on the shelf. Otherwise you could be waiting months.

I have a CPE lightweight. Other popular models are CVF, Garrett, Whoosh, ESP, Mishimoto.

There are boat loads of posts and threads on the topic you can search to dive deeper for pics, etc.

I don't have a separate pair of snow tires, all seasons are enough for me to drive through a blizzard so I'm keeping the Falken ProG2s for this winter, and getting some more snow oriented tires for next winter. Going to get a separate summer set up next year, so the RS winters will be used as what they're designed for... Winter wheels lol.

I couldn't turn it on, no matter how hard I tried. In the factory ECU in Europe it only turns on when you're breaking hard, supposedly, not when you're breaking normally.
