Well guys, i guess the question of " is over 300whp possible on the stock turbo on a Focus ST?",has been answered.
These pulls were done in our 2015 Focus ST Time Attack Car. The same car that has already ran a [email protected] mph in the 1/4 mile on the stock turbo and the car only weighs 2750lbs with driver.

Mods are:
-Cobb Accessport with a JST Performance Custom Tune
-JST Performance Mishimoto Intercooler kit
-Focus RS Intake with Cobb Filter
-MBRP Catless Downpipe
-3" Dump Tube exhaust
- Turbosmart Wastegate Actuator
- Mountune windage tray and Balance shaft delete
- E35 Ethanol Fuel blend
-Mishimoto Oil catch can
-JST Performance Oil Cooler W/ mishimoto core
- Stock BPV, Stock Charge pipes, no AC, no Torque vectoring.

The car made 306.3 WHP on a full pull ( cars tachometer is calibrated properly so i stopped the pulls a little earlier than i normally would). Made a few tweaks and actually lowered the boost level and the car made 309.6 WHP and 419 WTQ with the altered tune, But the car starved for fuel at around 5500rpms on the 309HP pull so i stopped the pull and didnt make any more pulls because i didnt' have anymore ethanol at the shop. Ive also included a screenshot of the Environmental correction factor of less than .1%, showing that this is as close as possible to being the correct number, no voo-doo here haha.

At a 2500lb dry weight, R compound tires, holding power to redline, and our Custom Fortune Auto 510 coilovers, this thing should be a blast on track for its debut in 3 weeks! We'll also be back at the drag strip for the last event of the year this Sunday and hoping for an 11.99 or better on the stock turbo before we retire the stock turbo!

That's awesome, well done! That is so much torque at less than 3k rpm. And to weight only 2700 lbs that thing is going to be nasty around a track. I look forward to hearing how that goes. What all have you stripped out of the car? Pics?

Thanks Fred, that's awesome! I do have another question now though. If everything got stripped out why not start out with a ST1 to save the money up front? Less crap to remove also, and no sunroof.
Check out part 1 of our blog post on our website, we actually bought this car at an auction with severe damage. Buying a Wrecked ST3 vs an ST1 would have been the same price, But ive sold over 3k worth of ST3 parts to go towards paying back the car :)

2500lbs ( working on pulling more), and 450WHP from a GTX2971R will be very fun, and in the very near future!

  • What's the part number of the shorter serpentine belt used after removing the A/C?
  • What was your final boost settings? Spike PSI and Hold PSI

Balance Shaft Delete = More NVH for a few more HP/TQ

I use the A/C too much to permanently remove it but I would like to know how much difference it makes without the belt turning the compressor.

Interesting that it takes removing the balance shaft, AC, No Cat and using the long banished Turbosmart WG to achieve numbers better than those with every bolt-on in the book.

I figure there's about 2 mph gain in the Turbosmart WG, maybe more. Maxing out the pre-load on the stock WG gave me 1.7+ mph gain over my previous best trap speed of 100.25 (101.96). It's not so much about the spike (max boost) but how much and how long it holds that boost. The stronger spring in the Turbosmart keeps holding at least 700 rpm longer than the stock unit.

SiStomper saw boost tapper down with max pre-load at about 4800 rpm.

Good Luck on hitting the 11's this weekend, I won't be hitting the track again until the 19th.

Don't forget that this is an E35 tune. Not 93 pump. So the numbers are on par with what they should be, not record shattering.

Is there a LWFW in there? Or any plans?

Did I miss something? Who said this was accomplished on 93 octane?

This statement here, lacked the addition of e35 fueling, just wanted to point that out.

I do believe that the AC is run by a separate belt; it is stretch to fit, no tensioner. There is a cute little gizmo you can buy to rotate the belt on and off.

cant wait to see the times with this turbo. You would never get these number in SoCal.
Why not? It can be done with water-methanol injection. Goofballs did 425 whp with GT 260 Sunoco (100 octane), water-methanol with a GTX 2867, not the 2971 you have and JST is considering.

I haven't looked that closely, thanks.

slight improvement, calling it quits for the year for Drag Racing.. First track event in this car in 2 weeks

More improvements!

Seems like your shifting at -

1-2 @ 5500
2-3 @ 5700-5800
3-4 @ 5700-5800

I finally got the car to trap over 100 by short shifting 3-4 at around 5800
