My Focus ST has the current Accessport with the latest H/W flash installed.

Whenever I leave my car parked an a long-term parking lot at an airport (about every other week), I change the tune to the 'do not start' one. When I return, I revert it back to the 93 Octane tune I normally use and go on my merry way.

Lately, when I switch over to the 'do not start' tune, I lose my SYNC screen... It just goes dark, and doesn't come back on. The only way I've found to restore it is to pull two fuses, wait about a minute and then replace them. Because of where the fuse box is located, this 49-year old needs to be a contortionist to lie down and bend in the right manner and use his left hand to pull and replace the fuses. In the summer its a PITA, I really don't wish to start doing this regularly in the winter time or when it's wet.

What could be causing this?

It used to do it once in a while, like 3 or 4 times over the span of a couple years... now it's every time.

Thanks in advance.

By accident, I found the problem. Impatience. LOL

When changing maps, you need to wait for the SYNC system to reset itself (if necessary) before turning the ignition off.

If your SYNC screen goes black during a flash/reflash, wait for the 'SYNC Update' screen to come up and for the progress indicator to go to 100% and the system resumes before turning off the ignition.

Hopefully this will help anyone else that encounters this.

Cheers.
