Nah. You have to remember this is when I'm driving 50-60 mph. It has the wind pushing against it cooling it down even more. When I'm stopped it will go up to around 11-13 above

I guess I don't understand.. I didn't think wind chill equated into it. Maybe its that dry air you got there and since its always 50% or more humidity here I don't see those numbers :)

Yeah I'm not sure. All I know is that during logs and active monitoring. Unless I'm sitting still I never go above the actual temp outside. I don't know though. I'm new to this turbo stuff

Well we should do a test... Next time you go out to drive after you have let the car sit all night cooling off, turn on the ignition and do not start the engine. Read your charge air temp on the cold engine and compare it to your ambient temp gauge. If they are giving accurate temp info I would suspect they would read the same temp.

I am going to test mine tonight before I drive home from work, cause the curiosity is getting to me.

The way to test the IC is to go do a 3rd or 4th gear WOT pull and see how high charge temps gets. Cruising around isn't going to tell you much.
We are aware of this, I was just trying to determine if each sensor was sending accurate info as in how close do they read on a cold engine (engine and ambient being same temp). On a cold engine that has sat overnight they should be very close in temp before startup if my theory is correct. This morning after sitting all night my temps are pretty close before startup, 68 CAT and 70 Ambient. I attribute ambient being higher to sensor location being warmed a couple degrees by the sunshine due to the sensors location. In my case it appears my sensors are sending the correct data or are within a degree or two of each other. Close enough that I feel they are sending the correct data.

I have never seen colder CAT temps when cruising compared to ambient, my CAT always shows a few degrees higher which makes sense. Justindeboosted says he sees a couple degrees colder CAT than ambient when cruising, thus I suspect one of his sensors is reading high, or the other is reading just a few degrees low. Anyhow, I am curious how his ambient and CAT temps would read after his car has sat and cooled down overnight.

Ambient on these cars are off that sensor is under the passanger side mirror and can read high. The heat reflecting off the side of the car can throw the reading off. Best thing to do is compair to your IATs. These readings will very from intake to intake as some draw heat from the engine bay.
