Hello, Ive recently experienced an issue under WOT around 5k rpm give or take my car hits fuel cut(sounds like launch control/redline). The first time i did it i thought i hit redline and just went with it, but a few days later getting on the highway it did it again. I tested multiple gears and they all do it...when it does it, it's intermittent, it might do it 10 times in a row, or it might not do it 10 times in a row. Once it starts doing it it seems to keep doing it until the next day. Tried multiple tunes (cobb,FSWERKS) without improvement. boost is fine, not over boosting, afr is good, not heatsoaking charge temps are 100 degrees. been doing it now through multiple tanks of gas from different sources 93 octane. Car has seemingly no loss of power until it hits fuel cut, also no codes/CEL. Please help, it's so annoying.

Sounds like your hitting the Flat Foot Shift limit 5k @ WOT is when my Stratified tune used to did it. Drove me crazy so I asked them to remove it.

Check to make sure the plug for your clutch is fully in.

Take your foot off the clutch completely when WOT, found mine resting on it and it activated the Flat foot shifting. I also pulled the tune off and re installed it just in case.

And if you've removed the clutch pedal spring, put it back.

FFS is triggered by seeing that the clutch is depressed. Without the stock clutch return spring, the clutch in many cases does not return to a high enough position to trigger the clutch position sensor. The tune therefore thinks your clutch is depressed (metaphorically speaking of course...) and presumes you are flat foot shifting.

Hope that helps,
Mark

Sorry to revive an old thread (it's not THAT old)...

Could this be the reason why when I go from 6th to 3rd around 60mph I'm experiencing the same thing? I don't have the clutch spring removed, but maybe I'm not quite completely off the clutch when I hit the gas.

For the OP and @BetaDnB, try uninstalling the AP completely and driving. If it still does it, then there's something mechanical limiting you.
Good thought. Or I could just switch to a different full boost slot without FFS and try that. Thanks for getting the gears in my head going.

You could, but getting rid of the AP completely while a bit drastic, at least rules it out. If there's an issue with the calibration itself affecting all slots, then changing them won't fix the issue.

No problem, hope it helps.

I tried what I said I would and put it on map slot 4 which is basically my panic slot with full boost, but no launch control or FFS. I did the downshift a few times this afternoon and every time it all worked fine, so I just must not be getting 100% off the clutch pedal by the time I'm 100% WOT. Thanks for the direction. I appreciate it and am now not so worried about my tune.

You can monitor/log "CPP Switch" this is the switch the tune uses to control the launch control and FFS features. For example if you are 100% throttle and Clutch is showing pressed it will limit at whatever your FFS limit is set at (5k) This will give you an idea making sure this is what is causing it (it is) either you've removed the assist spring and it is not unmaking the switch or the switch is disconnected or you're resting your foot on the pedal, either way the switch is made somehow.

Thanks for telling me what monitor to use. I probably would've never found it. I'm pretty well set on thinking I need a driver mod for the map slot with FFS as I've not removed the assist spring and think I'm just mashing the gas too soon. So either I must do away with FFS or balance my feet better.
