Hey so I recently replaced the engine on my 2013 st using a 2015 escape engine. The problem now is the car is having trouble starting up . Having trouble posting a video of it on here

So you right motor was no good. apparently the mechanic didn't mess with the pulley I'm not sure if that's true, said he used the one from the replacement motor not sure I'm confused on that. But anyways taking the motor back for refund and going to find another replacement. Quick question you think I could get away with just fixing the no compression on cylinder 1 on old motor? All the the other cylinders are showing 150 across

If a leak-down test doesn’t show a leaky gasket or valves, 98% chance it's a failed ringland on the piston.

Sometimes it's a minor scratch on the cylinder wall amd can be bored over to accept common 88mm pistons. Sometimes it's pretty bad and needs sleeved. Sometimes it's broken in a critical spot and the block is unusable.

Basically, you have to open it up and see what caused the failure.

You might be able to mix/match the new block with the old head. If the shop won't help you out, it's probably more cost effective to get another pre-tested junkyard motor for around $1,000.
