I just got a set of 16" steelies off a buddy of mine. I want to put snow tires on them, but after test fitting them...I discovered they don't clear the front brakes easy. Is there anyway I can make them work? Maybe run spacers that can clear the brakes?

Please don't tell me to give them back. I really want to use them.

17" is the smallest you can go on the 15/16 and some 14s depending on build date. They increased the front rotor size.

^^^ This. You can tell the smallest rim size by using the spare.

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess off to find some 17's then.
If you can't find any used, check out the Unique Series 83 steel wheels. They're about $50.00 a piece for 17x7 5x108. I used them before switching to all seasons and I had no issues.

17" will clear the calipers but the 16" won't.
If you really want 16", look at Finnspeed. They make wheels on which the barrel can be made shallow enough to clear calipers.

But for those you got, yup, you're hosed.
