HAWK HPS vs Powerstop Z26 ONLY

I have both pads, but on two completely different cars. But there are a couple similarities.

The ST with an aftermarket large brake kit with hps pads.
The other a 5000lbs SUV, with factory brakes using the powerstop pads.

in both cases I can confirm they are not much better than an OEM pad, maybe considered “OEM+.”

The common areas are, quiet with no squeal. Easy break-in with the 60-10 method a half dozen times. Little to no dust. They also have a soft initial bite upon hard application.

If looking at a track and street pad, maybe see if there is an HP5.0 application? It’s suppose to fix all the woes of the HP Plus. Otherwise swap pads for the track like a man

I have the z26. It already has like 4 track days. Still looks like new, I haven't experienced any fade or noise so far.
ceramic, low dust, and easy rotor wear are in the descriptions for this pad. All of those mean it's a street orientated pad.
If you didn't cook your brakes on these pads in a track setting, it sounds like you were driving about 6/10ths and early braking a lot.

I saw on an older post of yours where you tracked the temps of the brakes after a track session in the 600deg range. That's about when my DS2500's only start to work, routinely I could be over 800, peaking even more into 900 which is danger territory. I've seen more hardcore pads exceed that, and that's where glowing rotors start to be born.
