Yeah I know, loud is fun... but since I upgraded the motor mount and exhaust I am getting unwanted noises as well... any tips for getting the headliner to settle down on the ST3? It is ridiculously cheaply made :/
My exhaust makes my license plate vibrate as well (Ford Racing/Borla) which I can sort out pretty well on my own I imagine.
I have several other mods and am just a downpipe away from trying the mr300 tune and lowering the car a bit... but I have to admit I am a little worried that if I increase the harshness much more, either the vehicle will shake apart, or no one will want to ride with me anymore... (I do Uber on the side a bit, believe it or not ha ha!)
Anyone have tips on how to balance performance and ride quality?

Did you go with the rear mm? What brand/durometer? I haven't installed a mm yet on my ST2 but I did have one in my old MZ3 (basically a focus) with a 72ish dur. Ton's of vibration, which is completely normal.

Also regarding your exhaust, check all your exhaust hangers and the hanger bushings. You may have one loose and/or worn out.

I did a RMM upgrade and the vibes are insane. I can't run the HVAC without it shaking. @1k rpm, it's even worse, under load or not.
this does seem to settle down after a bit. It did for me anyway. Using the cfm rmm. I'd say I REALLY noticed a difference after 4k miles or so. One day I was at a stop light and thought back to when I first got the mount and how much more vibration there was at the time. It's definitely not just me getting used to it

COBB stage 2 RMM, not sure the durometer... it's smoothed a bit after about 5K miles but still vibrates pretty bad at stop lights...
Good idea about the hangers, I will check

That is reassuring thanks! It's been about that for me as well... I feel like the plastic mount on the headliner would rattle regardless... its awful when I put a pair of glasses in the holder lol or sometimes if I don't close the sunroof shade all the way that rattles as well

Yeah, you should be good after you put some miles on it. I remember change in the console used to rattle. No longer though

On the plate rattle: Get a piece of dynamat-cover the back of the plate and pick up a couple rubber grommets from the hardware store-when putting the plate back on put the grommets between the plate and the car makes that annoyance go away. For the headliner, make sure the plastic sunglass/sunroof button assembly is in tight, in mine occasionaly it works loose (not visibly) and the whole headliner starts rattling unitl I reseat it. Been seriously considering pulling the headliner and either leaving it off or dynomating and then gluing that F&!^@! back on so it never comes loose again
