H11 Fog Lights in 15 ST1?

Hey guys. I have seen plenty of people on here install H11 fog lights on their ST, but others use the H8. I know the H11 runs hotter, but will this be okay for the housing and harness? I don't want to burn anything or cause any problems. I am looking at installing a pair of H11 Philips Crystal Vision Ultra bulbs I have and they run 55 watts. I would prefer to run halogens as they throw light further. LED's look great, but the light output is not as good and unfortunately the diode dynamics bulbs seem a bit too pricey.

TL;DR Can I install H11 fog light bulbs instead of H8 without heat/electrical problems on my 2015 ST1?

I do not think that will be an issue, I've done it before without any problems. The only thing is that you'll need to file down the tab that the H11 has to make it fit, but other than that you should be fine. The other thing is that the Philips Crystal Vision, although it has a cool & great output, it doesn't last. I have been using it on my 4 year old Honda's headlight and I just recently replaced them for the 4th time. Luckily on the Honda, the headlight bulbs are easy to replace, for the Focus' fog lights, not so much. Best of luck with what ever you end up doing and please share photos after. Cheers!

I have these same bulbs in my headlight housing and they have been there for about 9 months and I haven't had any problems yet. I really don't want to install something that may burn out quickly. Any recommendations? Maybe I should just get yellow bulbs. I love how LED's look, but the distance of light output is poor imho and I won't pay for the high end DD LED's.
H8 only in 2015+. You will not be able to fit an H11 in the drivers side fog.

As I said before, you actually can, just need to file down the tabs on the H11 to make it fit to an H8 housing. But why not just get an H8 is my question really.

Are you using your fog lights as actual fog lights or will you be using it as a regular driving lights like your headlights?
I have them on all the time so I'm concerned with heat.

And what did you do about the computer that provides a **** hairs amount of width to get your fingers in there?

Just run H8's, its totally not worth the hassle.

Yeah I am going to order some H8 bulbs. Now I have to decide if I want white or yellow.
