What do you guys do with your firearm while driving? Console? Glovebox? Or somewhere else? I was thinking of mounting a holster on the l/h side of the console for quick access. Has anyone done something like this? Got any pics?

Mine stays on my waist.

That's what I've been doing too. But it's not the most accessible place when you need it asap. And even tho I love the ST3 seats, it is a little uncomfortable for me with it on my hip.

Both my vehicles have dedicated guns that patiently wait in the glove box.

I've yet to weaponize the motorcycle.

I was thinking of the same mounting solution. Drivers side of the center console , so its accesible yet out of direct sight via my body.

I usually unholster and tuck it in between the passenger seat side bolster of the ST3 recaro, and the center console. It fits quite snug, easy access, and doesnt stick out too much, especially if i have a jacket on the seat or something to that effect.

Keeping it holsterex while driving is not very comfortable, I edc fullsize double stacks, so Im working with a whole lot of firearm against the seats.

Yep I've done the same and stuck it between the pax seat and console. That's pretty good if I'm by myself but I don't care for it when somebody is in that seat. What's really nice about that spot is it will fit a variety of handguns. From my .380 to .45 and even my revolver. But I think I want something a little more secure and not as visible. I'm going to try mounting a .380 pocket holster to the console and keep a gun in the car at all times. And whatever is on my hip when I get in can go in the glovebox.

Is the holster mounted to the door panel or just stuck in there? How do you like it?

Yup. But I'd like to see a pick of your gun rack install. That sounds cool! Lol.

I'll get to that later today, out Christmas shopping, but here is a picture I pulled off the interwebs that might be a good spot. I'm also interested to in this as I'm getting my CCP here shortly and want a place to put my S&W .357

Aww I really like that. That's what I was hoping to see by starting this thread. I hadn't even thought of something like that. Thanks.

I was going to do something in the door pocket, since I'm right handed, I feel like it's better/easier to reach across my body than trying to reach back or off to the sides with how strong that side bolster is.

In one of my older cars, I had a holster mountain Ted to the top of the front windshield, and thanks to the tint strip, it could not be seen from out side the car.

Take a look at a company called sticky holsters. They are a very simple IWB sleeve holster made of a material that, for lack of a better term, sticks to stuff like fabric. I picked one up for a small 9mm with a crimson trace laser on it that was problematic carrying because of that combo. You can wear it anywhere IWB, front to back, left or right side, small of the back, your choice. They are also making a travel adapter that the holster fits into and mounts to your choice of surface. I was thinking about trying mine without the adapter between the seat base and center console but haven’t gotten around to it.

Seated in a vehicle a cross draw is almost always a better option then strong side carry especially if you have to clear the seatbelt etc. One nice thing about the sticky is it’s CHEAP and you can get kydex liners if you want a higher degree of retention.

That said normal CCW for me is a full size 1911 in a Milt Sparks Summer Special I’ve had for more than 20 years, which is one of the reasons the ST1 seats are way better, for me, than those huggy Recaro’s.
