Damn that sucks dude, looks like you took good care of your car, put in some crucial mods and kept the miles low. Super lucky find for a buyer, GLWS, sad to see ya go.
In the middle of getting my custom strat tune too:sad: Probably will leave it with the OTS Cobb stage 2 for now.

Dagger, there must be some other way. Selling it now is taking a tough loss w/o enjoying your hard work, but I understand, sacrifices must be made. Maybe study up on Texas hold 'em?

I am secretly hoping it doesn't sell. We are developing some land and won't be ready for our construction loan until spring, at which point I am hoping the wife and I have saved up enough/sold other crap we don't need and won't have to go through with this. On the other hand, it's only going to lose more value. The original plan was to keep this car for like 10+ years and the resale value was never a concern...but "the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry".

I'm no financial genius and know little to nothing about mortgage rates, down payments and such, but, 6 years ago I bought my present home with an FHA loan. I only had to come up with 3% down on a 30 year loan; I then proceeded to bust my butt working 2 jobs for 5 years and paid the loan off 25 years early. There are always alternatives...

That's extremely impressive, I must say. Congrats on that. That's awesome, and those 5 years sucked I'm sure, but now you are set.

He's right though Locke, you have a lot of options here. Speak to a good (seriously...a GOOD one..not a salesman..if you know one personally talk to them) loan officer somewhere. Do you have a good relationship with your bank? I work at my bank so it's a little different, but they are down to earth usually if you have a chat with your bank's person who handles mortgages primarily. And it's free guidance/advice.

Props dude, that is bad ass. Locke, make that car earn you some money, you've got a dash cam, post that **** on YouTube and start getting royalties! Got more parts? Install vids. Just trying to be creative, not really encouraging you to blow your savings at the casino. But...

Appreciate all the feedback, let me give you guys a little more details on the situation though..

So for the loan,we need a construction loan, which requires 20% down and is harder to get than a FHA. I have spoken with a few banks, but could look further to see if they would maybe do a 10% down or something, but I don't think it is likely. As far as having a good relationship with my bank, my family has banked there for years, but I recently relocated back to the area and only have had accounts a few years. So while a 3 percent down fha would be great...it isn't likely an option. Also, to build we need to engineer ($$$) a bridge to go through protected wetlands, build a half mile driveway, clear the land, put in a well and septic, solar power etc... This isn't going to be a cheap thing and the down payment will be between to 70-100k. My wife and I literally just opened a business 3 months ago after working on the development and planning for the last 3-4 years and we spent all our previous savings on that. We also work around 120hrs a week including our commute between the two of us. So while I love my ST, I love my wife more and want to be able to see her in a non work setting, and adding another 20 hour job (plus probably 5-8 hours of commuting) would technically be possible, it would destroy my soul and wipe me out.

When we build we will have a 1 minute commute, acres of land and a beautiful view. We will never have to move again (we have both moved at least 7 times in the last 10 years) and can finally settle down. So YES, there are some other options, I could work more or we could buy a home near-by and then wait to build a home on our property etc... but I think we are set on going in this direction. If a home pop's up close by our place at a decent price before I sell my ST, then I will keep it and go about the FHA loan.
@ddfred that's impressive my friend and I would like to pay off all my loans early too, I don't know if I will make it in 5 years tho!
@brian60 if during lunch break you happen to hear about any options I haven't considered loan wise let me know!

Oh dear lord this is tempting. Just wish it wasn't black! I have a black car now and I told myself I'd never get another one. Too much of a pain in the ass to keep clean.

But maybe...

The only good thing out of this is that the guy I sold it too will be driving it the right way and having fun with it, he had his 3speed totalled (rear-ended) and will treat the ST right.
