Hey Guys,

Have a tuning question. Purchased the Etune from Freektune and just received my first file and it was mentioned that the Cobb Traction Control has to be enabled on the entire tune and I cannot have a tune with it and one without it.

Are all the tuners the same way so you either have to have cobb traction control or not, can't have 1 map with it and identical map without it?

Pretty sure Justin can make 1 map with it and one map without it. (Did you get the full etune or OTS+ tune?) Though I'm curious on why you wouldn't want it. Cobb Traction Control is only on when all Ford control is off. Press and hold the ESC button. Also you can change the level of cobb traction control on your accessport. Go to Tune->Adjustments and the settings should be there - low numbers for less wheel spin and high numbers for more. You can see Cobb's website for more information on this.

Yea I know that it seems like a great feature I was just curious since he specifically said it needs to be on the entire map and he cannot have one 1 with it and 1 without it. I sent him an email asking what he meant but I know it takes him a little while to respond. I didn't know you could adjust it yourself I thought only the tuner could so that may solve my issue all together.

I believe you can adjust it yourself... The Tuner needs to activate the feature then you change it, or at least that is what my understanding is.... I haven't played around with it all that much. I think stratified has kinda their 'own version' of traction control in a way where they have a number that it should be set to for optimal or something like that. I also know that the tuner can turn on and off and adjust things like LC and FFS per map. I don't see why cobb would make TC for a whole tune instead of map based.

Would love it if someone more knowledgeable would comment on this too. Just recently got my freektune also.

Are you sure he didn't mean data logs instead of map? Just because when going etune, he will typically do 4-5 revisions and you'll do data logs for each tune you get so he can check out the log, and adjust your tune accordingly. For this process traction control must be off. Now if you have traction control from Cobb, it would make sense that Justin would have you keep the Cobb traction control on while the Ford system traction control is off, just so results are consistent. Now that I look back at it, you will receive multiple maps during the etuning process so that terminology makes sense.

I will be purchasing an etune very soon from Justin as well

Watched a video of Stratified talking about cobb traction control and they have it so that there are 8 levels of it and you can turn it completely off so I hope that Justin is able to do the same thing otherwise stratified would have been a better option.

There are perks to every tuner but I don't think any one tuner is a better option. All based on preference and how you work with the individual tuners. Nonetheless you should get a straight forward answer to your questions from Justin
