Wassup guys,
I’m about to do my first real work on the car it’s around 82k miles and it’s all stock besides a BOV lol I got it back in Feb 2021 with 47k miles. I’ve experienced some clutch slip occasionally in second and third when in boost and just beating on it recent few thousand miles . Also recently had some extra ticking almost, I think it may be coming from the HPFP but still wonder. Mainly my rear main seal just went out completely without warning almost. I don’t have a belly pan so it easy to spot the oil but one day it was fine next it leaks oil puddles so it’s been sitting for a min.
I recently got the
-rear main seal
-ACT stage1 clutch kit/ light weight flywheel
-torque solution full motor mount kit (driver, passenger, and RMM)
-damond motorsports catch can/ sound symposer to go along

over all I’m just curious about anything I should look out for and keep in mind. Also has anyone ran either the clutch set up or the motor mounts that could give some feed back. Appreciate it all!!!

Welcome aboard!

You might want to check your PCV valve (the one on the block under the intake). Pressurize it with a mityvac and see if it holds pressure. If the check valve has failed, boost pressure will be allowed to enter the crank case and pressurize it. Rear main seal failures aren't common on this platform, Reason I think there's an outside factor here.

Get an intercooler.

Most likely the RMS was installed incorrectly. 9/10 of the leaks I've seen are cause of this... I have accidently installed one wrong myself at one point.

I recently got it checked at a shop and they also said it was the RMS. I had got under the car and noticed the dripping was from a little gap between the block and transmission.

I wasn't denying the seal failure. I was speculating as to why the seal failed in the first place.

Same. It's almost always installer error. Especially if OP just had it done and it's leaking.

If it's been soaking your clutch with oil, good chance you'll need to replace the disc at the very least.

Is there a procedure on how to properly install the seal?

Yes, and a special tool. The seals actually used to come with this tool, but for some reason they stopped including the tool.
Can you post the procedure and which tool is needed?

This is a video I found, I also bought their tool for tomorrow when I end up doing all this. I spent 50$ as it’s a 35$ part and 15$ shipping. They also had a pretty cool brake fluid funnel but it’s crazy they charge shipping on each item.

makes sense, I was confused.
Is there a certain pressure I should be looking for it to hold?

The check valve should hold at least what tuned commanded boost brings, so 24psi.
