If only we could get that Liquid Blue...
It would be nice until it started to peel off the front of our cars, just like every other crappy modern paint...

Modern paint is actually technically advanced in every way to its predecessors. Though I do understand where you're coming from. Applications are much thinner now and also the paint has a harder structure which combined leads to "chipping". Also, mass production will never be perfect, especially on an economy vehicle. I've been in factories and there's no such thing as 100% in any department.

Bring the wagon to the US!! or the diesel engine.

Nice article. I'm not been following the Escape too much but I know it's not been extremely reliable. Hopefully the EcoSport won't have the same gremlins.

I think Ford could actually sell a decent number of ST wagons in the US. And why doesn't VW do a GTI or R wagon in the US? I see tons of jetta/golf sportwagons around. They could sell the crap out of a sportier model.

I sold a 13 year old Miata with high mileage about 2 years ago. The front end looked amazing. Little to no paint chips. My ST has 53k miles and the front end looks like swiss cheese. Both cars experienced similar driving habits through their life. It may be advanced in many ways, but the bottom line is eco-friendly paint = paint that comes off easy.

We have had the EcoSport for some time now in Mexico. It is not that bad, it's just a tall Fiesta. Anyway, sales haven't been good so I don't see them often.
