So this is a place where we can rant and praise our cars. Lol. Thread is not to be taken seriously.

I hate that my car is not big people friendly (ie.me). I love my st3 seats but they sure do get uncomfortable after long drives.

I hate the wings on the seat as well. I hate them mostly because they will hit you thigh getting in the car. By doing this it will cause wear even quicker than usual. Everytime i get in my car i die a little knowing what im doing to it.

I hate that the fog light button and hatch release button are next to each other and the are 1 millimeter big. Often i catch my self getting out of the car at a red light just to close the hatch.

I hate the brake dust. Its ridiculous how dirty the wheels get. Ive never had a car do this to this extent. Litterly 1 drive after a wash and they already start getting dark grey.

I hate and love my symposer. I love the growl it makes but i hate that it cant decide when it wants to kick in or off.

I hate how people look at my car and give me thumbs up in approval of it. Or every v6 mustang that wants to race me lol.

At the end of the day when im in it and i stomp the pedal it always brings a smile to my fast.

Rant over.

I'm slightly amused by the brake dust complaints. It's definitely more than most cars, but after having a C230 Sport, and a CLK 320 before I'm used to brake dust complaints, and this car didn't even come close.

I have wondered about the hatch release; I assume it won't activate at speed, but I've never tested it.

With an ST1, I don't have the same seat complaints/worries as you, but I'm with you on the symposer. I really like it when I'm in the throttle, but there are times when it's kicked on (stop and go traffic), and then I have to stop quickly, and I'm idling, not moving, with the symposer pumping noise in. That bugs me. It sounds great at higher rpms, but it just sounds bad below 2-2,500.

It's a car - use it and enjoy it. It's not going to last forever. I'm beginning to learn that the Focus ST is kind of a quirky car that is by no means perfect but the driving experience melts away the complaints.

But what you REALLY hate about the car is how much you LOVE the car. I know that's my biggest complaint. It has turned me from being a rather sensible and rational individual when it came to my choice in transportation, to "that guy" that obsesses over his car and keeps rubbing blemishes on the finish to see if it's some sort of scratch in the finish or just a smudge

With this car I am obsessively protective of it, wash it way too often and get anal about every little scrape and imperfection in the car. And when I'm not obsessing over it, I'm riding around like a 10 year old with a big stupid grin on my face.

That is really annoying.

I was driving some co-workers to lunch the other day, and this happened... I'm now known as the fast driver of the office.

I'm totally not a fast driver.

Totally not.

Not at all.

Ok, maybe a little.

Wait till you start taking three rights to make a left, just because. Or better yet, finding "short cuts" that always seem to take an extra 15 or 20 minutes to get to where your going.

Has your wife noticed how you have lost all interest in restaurants within a 10 mile radius of where you live.

I can't agree with this more.

After 4,800 miles the car is starting to rattle on the god awful Denver roads. This was my biggest complaint of my previous Mopar that started to rattle after 30,000 miles and I prayed my next car wouldn't do so. However, as soon as I am able to get on the throttle or when I find an open highway ramp, I couldn't care less that the car is rattling. I am completely set on running this car into the ground and enjoying every last minute of it.

Rofl, you don't know rattles till you have been in my Focus...

My biggest complaint is that my car car doesn't magically remove every other driver off the road so I can drive them proper. I could have sworn I read it in the brochure, more Ford lies apparently. I see too many switchbacks, hairpins, S's, and ramps being driven poorly, blocking me from having fun.

Besides that, my car is about 100 whp short of being perfect.

I don't think my symposer works, I don't hear a change. Rant over lol.

Is there a way to check it?
No idea, I ripped that guy out like immediately, just real glorious sounds now...

I believe if it malfunctions you will get a soft OBD code, I may be wrong, I definitely have been drinking.

LOL Ok, welp no codes so that's good. Yeah it's coming out soon.
By soft code, i mean a code stored by the ecu that doesnt trigger the check engine light. Active grill shutters fall into this category as well. So you would need to do a OBD code scan with an appropriate tool to really know.

On the note about the hatch release, this is actually an issue. My ST was built on 9/1 and I still haven't received it. Why? Because Ford found out about a software bug. If you're driving (at any speed) and hit that button the hatch will open.

I suspect this will be a recall soon. It affects the manual SE hatchbacks too. This is the only reason I haven't gotten my ST yet! Really annoying, but supposedly they were re-flashing cars last week, so mine should ship soon. Rant over!

My 6 year old doesn't like driving in the car because he thinks we are always racing because of the sound the symposer is making. I have to keep the dash cluster set to show the MPH digitally so he can make sure it matches the speed limit signs.
