Most of the functions we can do I have made a video about.

How to use FoCCCus:
Sorry man, ive been lazy lately about writing a new focccus post. Ive been consumed by the calibration aspects of Focccus. Ive been reading everything i can get my hands on from SAE to ISO and everything in between. Ive probably downloaded 100+pdf files lately on the subject.

Not a problem! I still need to add time tags to the video too.

And can you point me to the cable you used? I'm assuming you have successfully uploaded a full VBF on Focccus with that cable?
I nearly got the same problem.
Tried to update the FCDIM to a newer version and it stuck with a china elm at various %, audio display is now dead.
After reading alot i bought this Obdlink MX Bluetooth, because it should be more stable and faster.

Well after flashing again with FOCCCus it's still damn slow and crashes at ~60%.

From what ive read it seems flashing typically takes anywhere from 15-30minutes but can be longer. There are a few modules that have to be flashed perfect the first time or they "soft" brick. A few modules can be recovered using focccus immediately after the flash fail but in order to do that some steps need to be taken in the app. The reason i havent posted any of this info in OP is because the directions arent clearly spelled out from the developer.

The image is my Tablet with Windows 8.1 x86 (currently connected and flashing , remote controlling because it's damn cold outside)
Tried it with a Windows 7 x64 Laptop, same result. Couldn't even handle 10%. Current state is 34%.

Your baudrate is incredibly low. Try bumping it up to 500k, 1Mbps or even 2Mbps.

Also gonna need to set the buffer...if thats even possible in windows 8

It seems you can enter whatever you want in FOCCCus at the baudrate, still the same speed. It is about 1% per Minute. Maybe because the Windows COM settings, i'm not sure about that.

Win is in german but i guess you know what i mean

Also just setting up a fresh win7 x86 only for testing the vbf upload

Took me awhile to find the reference but if you are using an MX or some other device that is capable of automatically switching speeds then you can click auto and maximize speed upin initial focccus connection.
You will want to set timeout to 1ms

Thanks for your help! I will try it later with these settings and report.

2000000 should be the speed setting...it has something to do with a handshake method prior to the write.

They mention a possible need to download ELMconfig and let that set up your default parameters first. I guess its automagic. I have elmconfig but its been a long time since i messed with it. I believe that elmconfig is in russian but if you google for "ElmConfig English" there is a translated version floating around somewhere.

I very recently am unable to connect via MSCAN. Forscan and Focccus cant see any modules on that bus. Ive dont multiple resets to the device and nothing fixes it.

Wow these adapters sound like a frekin joke man. 15-30 minutes is soooo slow. I'm almost certain we were flashing the BCM in about 5-8 min. Their delay between flash messages must be pretty bad. I'm assuming that's why these things fail randomly. Its too bad this app isn't J2534 compatible. Can this thing generate a VBF file to flash with the new settings via a different app? That would be awesome.

He is testing 500k. The ffclub.ru(focccus forum) uses a device that they make/sell exclusively called an ELS27. It uses a 2Mbit rate for the RS232 connection. They recommend nothing under that for connecting. The MX on the otherhand I beleive is capable of a 10Mbit connection. The speeds can and will get faster as we learn proper setup procedures.

As to the generation of a vbf file, im not so sure. Yesterday they were talking about loading a non standard VBF file but with no mention of what program generates the vbf. They also mentioned that that they were able to make changes to existing vbf in order to implement new features. One such feature is things like Track Title and artist names in the in IPC screen and speedo gauge digital display.

I tried everything I could find and couldn't get it to work so I bought a cheap Bluetooth reader on amazon and used that for the Focccus app. I still use the MX for code clearing and dashboards day to day, but the Bluetooth was much simpler.

The bluetooth MX has more of an open feel to it and has much easier setup procedure for the more advanced AT and ST commands.

The wifi version was created almost exclusively for the Iphone crowd because the iphone wont allow the typed of connection needed for reading raw data. The BT MX on the other hand is out of the box ready to set up an RS232 connection over BT using a virtual comport. Really no setup needed it just does it.

I should mention that the iphone can use the BT MX but you have to be jailbroken and you need to download a new Bluetooth Stack.

The WIFI MX has one feature that i wish i had. It can connect to a network wifi router which can make it easy for someone to sit on the couch and hack their own car or even be offsite while their car is at home.

Anyhow, here is a link for directions in setting up the MX wifi. https://www.scantool.net/forum/index.php?topic=9425.0

I think the App itself can't handle the STN used in Obdlink MX. I can enter in the baudrate whatever i want, nothing really changes. It's connecting with every value.
Forscan was able to connect with 2mbit, elmconfig even 10mbit but as you know its only for the Focus 2.
Focccus stays around 38400 i guess, auto baudrate will only set to this limit, too.

Well... i don't really know what to do anymore so i've to visit a Ford garage on monday.
