To be honest I got this solution from a Russian guy, he is the one who gave me this firmware version, and it worked with a guy in Australia who had the same problem as mine, but still I need at least to be able to do a full successful upload, and I have a ****ty cable.. Which one would work? do I have to buy the Russian one?
We dont know because nobody as far as I know in the USA has done it with focccus yet. Ive read basically every focccus forum that is available in English and ive never heard of anyone outside of Russia having success with it.

By the time you buy their adapter, an OBDLink MX, and the elm you have, you would probably be fairly close to cost of a Ford Mongoose Pro from Drew-Tech. With that and a $32 3day pass for using FMP you can update all the modules with an officially licensed product and software that is proven to work.
Man O Man.

The cable I got was for 15 Dollars, I will either get the ELS OR the MX, each for 25-100 USD max. Mongoose is for 495 USD, even double the price of the Sony unit I got.

Lol...i payed damn near $100 for the MX when i got it 2 years ago.

Maybe got the mongoose and update your friends vehicles for a fee to offset the cost. Atleast with the mongoose you can fiddle around with focccus and if you brick something you can fix it yourself...i know that doesnt help you with the radio now but if you order from ffclub younwill probably have a decently long ship time anyhow.

Looks like it, but what do you think of this one ELM327 USB V1.4 OBDII OBD2 Car Diagnostic Code Reader Scanner Tool

I got another insight from the guy who sold me the cable. I'm currently running a 64Bit laptop with windows 7, he claims that it caused problems to many people before and they were able to manage with a 32 bit one.

Anyone with ideas?

All I run is 64 bit on windows 7 and never really have any major problems using a ELM327

And can you point me to the cable you used? I'm assuming you have successfully uploaded a full VBF on Focccus with that cable?
I may not have mentioned this yesterday but I am the OP for this thread so im pretty well versed as to who has gotten what to work. @Now534 and a few others have been on here since the beginning of the Focccus. No one in this forum--focusst.org... has ever done what you are asking about(or reported success with). Having said that, I believe @Now534 use and OBDLink MX and Windows 7. I use Win7 x64 along with an OBDlink MX as well. Windows 8 is the only OS I had issues with and that was because my clone ELM was getting shut down by the official drivers from the company that makes the official ELM327 chips.

Alright I need some help. I got an OBDLink MX wifi for Christmas this year, and am hoping to be able to do the global open/close, as well as change over the tire sensors to ditch the warning light. I'm using windows 8, have everything installed, and everything other than the Focccus app is working. I can use the OBDWiz software that comes with the MX without issue, however when I open the Focccus app, there are no port options at all. The only option there in the drop down menu is 'offline mode'. Firstly, will the MX wifi work with the app? If it will, how do I choose the port?

Thanks in advance!
Did you ever get this working? I read that to get serial data setup for this like how the MX works out of the box you need to use that webpage setup. Ip address of 127.0.0.1 port 35000

The STN series of chips in the OBDLink items are upgrades to the ELM. If software takes full advantage of them, they can operate faster than an ELM327.

If you wanted to try programming with one of those I'd recommend an OBDLink SX as it has a cabled connection, which is more reliable.
No matter how you look at it, it's a slow operation.

I tried everything I could find and couldn't get it to work so I bought a cheap Bluetooth reader on amazon and used that for the Focccus app. I still use the MX for code clearing and dashboards day to day, but the Bluetooth was much simpler.

yes I do, ST2. Would the ECO-Scout be what we already have with the 4 section MPG, DTE, ODO and timer? or is this something new?
Its the screen that says how well you are at shifting, speed, and anticipation.

Regular Foci models dont have this i gues because i know other people have turned it on and it suddently became a screen on the ipc.

Are there instructions for using this to switch headlight type to HID? Sorry, when I search the thread for "HID" it shows no results.
Switch the headlight type from halogen to Alternative HID and turn Dimmed Dipped to Off. You need to have both headlights powering something though or you will still throw a fault.
