Its something I would love to try but want to be sure there is a fail safe in case something, like back it up or such.

At the moment I do not believe there is a failsafe. This software is very beta. Just make sure you have an unmodded vbf file backed up. If you need support you are only going to get it here or another forum fairly quickly. The devloper is appr. 12 hours behind us so if you need support in the day he/she will most likely be sleeping. Then there are language barriers to think about. if you want to play you should thing about getting familiar with google translate. I used it to go to the focus ru forums, it works but the translation is not perfect.

what does VEH stand for? IS IDS the only thing that can reload the data once the car is bricked? If power is removed completely then how do you turn accessory mode on to power up the bus and obdport so you can reload?

Sorry it means vehicle. I believe you could probably restore it using the Focccus software but i havent tried it. when it happens the car tries to reset and fails. nothing powers up. the module is on but the dash is not set to to turn on. Since the module is powered i was able to reprogram it.

OK sweet, so power is available but nothing lights up in the IPC to indicate power is there. Im at work with my laptop and about to go out and try this global window setting. quick question, what is this Read/Write DID and the READ DIDs section? Braden@COBB was speaking about this earlier but when I google it nothing comes up. Any idea what the Bruteforce Secret key is used for?

Do you think an aftermarket cam could be wired in instead of factory? I'm assuming thats a factory part which is why it's so much. If not, I may end up buying a locpick so I can use waze nav and it also includes back up cam functionality.
yes it is the factory parts. the reason i am going that way is so the wiring will be factory. I dont think you can add an aftermarket one this way as it is transfered over the i-can network

Yes - the bruteforce secret key is something that we are going to use to add support for our clusters. i have to do that at lunch and send him the info
Im assuming the key is different per hardware version. Ill get mine as well.
On a side note, although my obdlink mx has functioned flawlessly up to this point I can see the need for a wired usb reader because bluetooth can be flaky sometimes. Dl33t, I just purchased the ELM327 reader, what do you think? http://www.dx.com/p/v1-5-obd2-elm327-usb-can-bus-scanner-126938#.U1FmJqUo7qA

Did u get v.7.3? To get the key u have to go through a sequence. The key should be the same across all our versions in the us
Not sure where the v7.3 reference is coming from.

JDUB - i just sent the bruteforce secret key to him. he will update the software within the next day or so.

JSTUMP - i dont know about NAV yet. i would assume it has to be programmed through the IC which we dont have access to, yet.

I tested the LED DRLs on an ST3 and it did not work. I also tested the global open close on a standard 2012 focus and it also did not work, however it had an actual key and not the push button start so that may be a factor. We should get a list of does and does not work functions going.

Ok ... fixed my checksum and loaded the data to the car. Good news is no errors and i changed the value associated with the reverse camera - i used 02 as my value and it now read with reverse camera, accessory only - hopefully braden can shed some light on this ... if i beg hard enough maybe i can get all the values for this thing from braden
Im getting the checksum mismatch upon connection now. Also when I turn auto and maximize off and set baud to 500k the ccc data loads correctly and I can read everything. Now if I turn global open/close on from here and click write to bcm when it finishes then what? How did you fix your checksum?

Edited..ok if I use do the asbuilt editor and load from ETIS. byte 0 has a value of 7D.

Now if I change global open to on with sunroof then save as xml file and then reload the page then browse to the newly created xml file the checksum changes to 7F.

I assume that if I load Focccus and load from file the newly created xml file and click write to bcm this will be finished. Is this correct?

I said F it. Did what I said above and click write to BCM. Hit 100% and everything seems nominal.
