when i programm the bcmi with ids it runs complete. no errors appere.
then i check with ids the car configuration in bcmi again after programming .
the parameter has to be hid or hid alternative, but on my screen its says by block headlights no config.

the headlight units i orderd from the same carmodel but with original xenon or hid.
i work for a ford dealer in netherland.
also the light switch i orderd.

thanx for helping me out
Have you tried installing them without changing the BCM? I have factory Ford xenon HID lights in my car that came with halogens originally and I do not have to change that in the BCM. Everything works how it should and that setting still says Halogen.

So you are changing these settings directly with an IDS and not FoCCCus? Are you able to use the IDS to upload a custom configuration file to the BCM? Because if you can, you can go to http://ford.xtlt.ru/ab/ and use your vin to find the right file, change the setting on the screen then save the file which you can then use to upload to the car with the IDS. Does this make sense?

i try the headlight units to work without changing bcmi but they wont work
sometimes one flash but not working (xenon lamps dont light up )
thats why i tried to program the bcm to hid

i use the as-built editor to create the right setting on headlights.
and then i putit on a usb stick en load it via ids (original ford computer from my work into the car )
so far so good.
but when i read after program the bcm it not show me the right code (parameter ) ( hid )

i hope u understand me.

i have orderd a elm 327 and it came today with the post.
i have to try it with focccus.

Yeah I understand what you are doing. I just remembered that I use a relay harness on mine which may be why mine work different.

What year and model focus are you trying this on? I have not had success doing BCM changes on an SES focus, only on ST's. It looks like the parameters change in the FoCCCus program but the car will not recognize them.

Are the lights working correctly after you change the parameter to HID and it is just not showing the right parameter name in the IDS? I recall someone saying there may be slight changes in the As-Built data from country to country so maybe that is why the correct parameter name is not showing up.

Found out if you have Windows down you can roll them up by holding your thumb on locking part of handle(black piece) . With global Windows programmed

Dumb question. My ST2 has the "aesthetic lights" as they're called in the As-built editor. But they are not on all the time and just come on when doors are open, Could I turn this setting on and would they work like normal ST3 lights? Just wondering. Thanks

Im not sure if the ST2 has this knob but if so then rotate the selector to the marked position and see if that works for you.

Oh and they are called aesthetic lights because they are not bright enough to be considered DRL. The law changed between 2012 and 2013 and after the ST was already designed. I imagine the next full ST update will have standard DRL.

I was actually very surprised (and happy) that there was not any DRL's.

Why? Typically most insurance companies give a slight discount when you have DRL.

Mine does? I've got an ST2, and when I open the door, my foot wells illuminate blue. No mods or anything done. I've also got LED dome lights if you mean that?
That's not how the ST2 pkg comes from the factory. There is no mood lighting options at all. So either you dealer swapped some bulbs, or whomever you bought the car from did.
