Well as long as i'm not the only one. But it is kind of annoying.
I hadn't put the two together until you said it. I didn't even pay attention... Now it will probably bother me.

After the global was turned on i'm starting to notice that the cluster LCD is slow to turn on when i open the door or turn the car on. The MFT screen turns on right away when the door is opened but the cluster LCD takes 5-10 seconds until it turns on. Is that normal or did something screw up? Once the screen is on it responds with the same quickness as before the global mod.
One has absolutely nothing to do with the other. Hundreds have done this mod and you are the first to have an issue with an ipc slowness. However, there IS a tsb that addresses slow to respond IPC. This has been a known issue for a long time. You may just not have payed as close attention to it since you werent hacking it.

Would I be able to program my brothers 2010 Focus to do the global window thing. I did my ST (2013).

Ok thanks, my brother wants to know if it can be done on his 2010 Focus.

Mine does this as well, but I haven't done any of these mods or used the utility.

Ok so it's all good to try?

Yep. COM port is how your PC communicates with the device. If it can see the ELM, then it's all fine.

I understand this is the ST forums, not the regular Focus forums, but this thread is much more active and the guys over at FF haven't offered up any suggestions as of yet... So, I was able to get my ELM327 to work great with my '13 Ti. I turned on Global Open/Close, HSA, and turned off the shift light.

However I went to try this on my sister's '14 Ti today and haven't been able to finish pulling down the BCM data. I get an error "Error loading VBF". The strange thing is I hit this error at different points. It either happens right out of the gate, around 40%, 66%, or 77%. Searching both FF and here for "VBF" come up with nothing, so I think the search may be acting up, and 120 pages is a lot to skim manually. :S Anyone have any thoughts on this? I tried both 0.8.2 and 0.8 with the same results.
I was finally able to get my sister's '14 Ti to read and write to the BCM, I ended up rolling back to 0.7.0 and that seemed to have done the trick. Had a few random failures, but I think those are the reader not the software after having read the threads here and over at FF.

On a random note, does anyone know if such software exists for the '14 Mustang yet? My dad picked up a GT Premium last weekend and he's interested to see what he can fiddle with as well. I've done some basic searching but haven't come up with much yet.

You need to read the bcm software# and then download the corresponding .vbf file from the motorcraft calibration site. Unzip and copy the .vbf file to the focccus vbf folder. Hopefully this will fix your vbf problems.

No idea if the mustang has a program that works similiarly.

It can but it is a different program. Try googling "Elm-FF2 english version"

Btw. The elm-ff2 program has way more features that it can unlock on the older Foci. Ive tried it on my ST and it wont do anything.

Nav will never work for those that don't have the GPSM module. Even if we could add it to the car how would the car know where it is?

It was my understanding all STs have the module because you can do basic navigation on the ST1 and 2, you just don't have the map on screen and it's a PITA to set a destination.

I see. Well anyhow, I was just reading on the official Focccus forum and it looks like work has slowed way down. There is now a wiki at www.focccus.com

Looks like they have run into some decryption problems. The have said it can be used to do our own calibration such as the ipc update and even show it working. However on some modules if the upload fails the only fix is an IDS so do it at your own risk.

Ahh, that stinks. It was going great for like 3 weeks lol.

You need to be able to communicate with a computer, hardline or Bluetooth. You need the program, which there is a link at the beginning of the thread, and your vin number.
