FoCCCus: - Central Configuration Utility - Summary

Current version: .8.4.
Wiki: http://focccus.com/wiki/Main_Page Very sparsely populated with usable information.
Unless you can read russian you will need google translate to read from the site.

I thought I would start a new post because the old one had 22 pages of info and no real way to arrange it. That original post should continue to be used with only pertinent info here. I would like to maintain the first 4 posts as tested and working mods, types of proven code readers used with links to where users bought them, and any other decent reads on the subject of calibrations, obd2, and CAN. Accessport info is welcome as well.

Link to original post: Focccus PC app as-built editor AND all around reprogrammer

FoCCCus is a Central Configuration utility that allows users to modify certain parameters of their Ford Focus Generation 3 models. The program is in beta and the current version is .8.4 and is built by a russian developer who goes by the handle of "xgloom." This program is the real deal folks. Some of these parameters we have access to dealers cant even do.

This program has been updated many times and now works many different model cars. Fusion(Mondeo), Cmax, Bmax, F150, Focus(all Mk3 versions), Explorer,

tested and fully working mods:
1. Global open/close ie,. key fob window control - BCM HS-CAN - Change parameter#184 to enabled and click write to BCM
2. Shift light - turn on or off - Change Paramter #178 to "Without Shift Indication"
3. Aftermarket HIDs without a resistor - Paramter#14 Changed to Alternative HID
4. (Experimental) reflash of individual modules - Apparently this works but ive not read of anyone in the US successfully completing the procedure.
5. OEM Cruise Control added to Ford Focus SE with Sync: use option #23 Cruise Control set to "with Cruise Control"
6 Add Hill Assist to non ST model
7. Turn on ecoscout display
8. Windshield wiper motor calibration
9. Foglights on WITH High Beams. Legality varies between states. Change Parameter #18 to 02 - Foglamp.

Look at the COM port configuration that forscan is using. That should be the one to work with Focccus. I think I reference in my video below.

Note: I would advise against flashing your ECU with a wireless connection. I've heard that losing connect can render the car in drivable until updated again by Ford tool. Seems like an unnecessary risk when a good USB ELM327 can be had for less than $25.

It's pretty simple, just watch the videos

Those are just the proven working ones.

Its a good gadget to have regardless of whether or not you do the mod. Its a code reader first.

Anyone know what the NAV-TV "programmer" is actually doing when they program through the OBD port? There backup cam solution looks pretty basic, hook up their "video adapter" (not sure what this actually is or does), and then hook up their programmer to the OBD port and let it program. They said then you can disconnect the programmer and throw in the glove box. Here is the manual for their solution:

http://www.navtv.com/userfiles/editor/file/manuals/ALLSYNC/MyFordTouch Cam.pdf

Does anyone think it's possible to change whatever settings their "programmer" does in Focccus, and then build your own "video adapter" cable?

I cant say for sure what it is doing but I know that the 13-14 st is missing the pins for a camera hookup which apparently this adapter is used for. That would be what that part is for, so that a video input would direct connect into MFT.

As for the programmer it may be tricking the receiver into displaying video in motion or reprogramming the mft so that when the car goes into reverse the radio switches to that video input.

If you want to know what the programmer is actually doing you can use a y-adapter on the obd port. One port for the programmer and one for a obd reader. An obdlink MX can be setup to transmit to a pc all the write commands on the bus. You would just need to translate the raw commands to something human readble.

If you get one please please do a write up, many of us want a native camera setup

Not gonna happen atleast not without hacking the APIM using a propietary 1394 connector and software. Apparently it can be done but you have to program it using a vin# that has nav factory enabled.

#61 ·
Where'd you get this info?

I was hoping I'd find some secret hidden away somewhere in either the APIM VIP code or BCM code.
I haven't tried just writing a nav-enabled VIN to the APIM VIP and seeing if that works.

The APIM has two processors, the VIP (Vehicle Interface Processor) located on the HSCAN bus, and the CIP (Consumer Interface Processor), the Windows embedded portion updated through the USB.

I'm almost wondering the CIP simply checks with the VIP to get the programmed VIN, and decodes the VIN that way somehow.

The powers that be want me to start a new thread that only contains what can and cant be done. Im currently writing a word doc that contains everything. I also ordered low profile OBD2 Y adapter so i can leave my AP3 and my MX in place all the time. Once the cable comes in i plan to write a simple tutorial using my MX. I also have an ELM327 wired adapter that i may try as well.

Once that new thread is up it will be stickied. At that point these 2 threads will close but will still be readable with links included in the tutorials.

Isn't there a USB with switch to use with FOCCCUS and ForScan?

I prefer USB, the 2 links provided look to be the same, what exactly are the differences?

Still no one has tried a VAGCOM UBS cable to try this? We have 2 spare laptops so I was planning on using one for VAGCOME and one for FOCCCUS/ForScan.

Local dealer said they could turn global open/close on in my 15... For the low low price of $65... I didn't really want it that bad though

So guys, I tried to and successfully activated the global open windows but when I took a short drive down the road, the service engine light came on and I ran a VHR and it says under engine, trans and emissions that urgent s service is required and the brakes and suspension says status uncertain. First, maybe I didn't do it as successfully as I thought, but I reinstalled the factory setup just to see if it changed anything, and it didn't. Wth is going on? Didn't change anything other than 184 for the global open.

It says you'll get all sorts of errors... Maybe if you clear the codes and restart the car they will stay gone

Download Forscan, clear the DTC's and then Reset the DTC information. It'll go away. I just ran into this the other day on someone else's car of course and almost freaked for a minute. But you have to clear the codes and then reset DTC information.

Thanks venomous and Burke, I'll do that tomorrow morning before I leave. Hopefully all will be well. Thought I screwed something up since I've never done anything like that before even though it was pretty simple.

#88 ·
Yes it does. Most of the time it causes a few minor codes, sometimes it causes bigger, still non problematic codes. I've done mine about 3 dozen times with no heck engine lights but I did a buddies the other day and the first time on his car I got check engine codes. I was able to clear them with forscan though.

Has any one tried changing the config in the ipc focccus 0.8.4 has the ability to read and wright the config I have read it and it is hexadecimal but can't find any info anywhere about it.?

#92 ·
The ipc is a backup of what is stored in the bcm. I wouldnt change it if I were you.

ok I was just wondering if it were possible to move the info for sync (text messages phone calls) to the screen in the cluster it was possible with the early versions for the mk2.5. I only ask because I fitted a chinese aftermarket head unit with 8 inch touch screen when I purchased it the seller assured me sync would be ok but it is terrible very buggy I still have phone calls being received and text messages but screen most of the time just displays garbage.

The info you want is most likely on the infotainment bus which is different than the Highspeed and Mediumspeed CAN that this app deals with. Let me see if I can dig up a diagram so you can see how everything ties together.

My advice to you is to download the Helm Service Manual that is stickied. You only need the smaller download and then use an html reader app to view the contents. Once you have the manual, unzip it and load the index.html file. That will load the rest of the manual.

#95 ·
thanks for clearing that up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! was just a avenue I was thinking would solve my issue I hate losing the sync functions probably will go back to stock. love the amount of info on this forum its incredible first time on a furom like this.

Since the ODB interfaces have not been updated since March, what has changed since then, for better quality interfaces? I am looking to purchase in 48hrs. I prefer USB, just because, but I do not want ot modify anyting after I purchase it. If the WIFI is the way to go, then I will go that route. I plan on using an old Dell laptop I have for this sole purpose, as well as for my VAGCOM software, which is USB.
