So I tuned my car for loud cracks and pops from stratified on 93. I have a hollowed cat, 3" Mbrp cat back. Dual port turbo smart bov at default setting. The cracks and pops are coming from about where the exhaust goes over the axel. What can I do to insure that the flame shows its self when I want it to? Shorten the exhaust and throw it out of the side? It does it here and there but never when I wanna do it on demand.

I don't know if we actually shoot flames or not...I hear the pops from the same location but I don't think I can actually shoot visible flames. But it would be cool to be able to see them though...

I don't think the tune runs the car rich enough to produce the results you want. From what I've read, the crackle tune from stratified only dumps a little bit of extra fuel off throttle via modified torque targets to create the noise. But I could be wrong

If you're catless with a free flowing exhaust you should be able to throw the occasional baby flame. If you're BT or running Meth you can definitely throw flames.

That's why I assume if I shortened the exhaust and did some sort of side pipe before the driver side tire it would be easier. If we hear the pops in the rear of the car the combustion is getting back there, just rarely making it far enough to be visible.

Keep in mind your exhaust can take some heat but not prolonged combustion temp type of heat.

Yeah that's true eventually while driving it a bit I'd be running cherry red.

The stratified tune will not shoot flames, even when my exhaust was broken off at the down pipe it would just barely pop a little baby flame out. If you are looking for flames you'd have to do what was said above, BT, Meth Injection, or both.

Do you have loud pops? When I'm in neutral and hit red line after coming out of a launch control it happens for me rarely.

This sounds fully badass...
Whatever floats your boat. Sounds like a stock turbo car trying to give off the impression its a whole lot faster than it is to me.
Not to mention all the completely unnecessary abuse.

Yeah.. I was just popping in to say something positive, rather than drop a bunch of completely unnecessary negativity and put someone down for something they are trying to do. But like you said... "whatever floats your boat".

Sorry, in the real world not everyone is a winner, has a safe space, and gets a trophy or a participation award for trying. When a person posts a thread, especially with a new idea, they need to be open to the possibility that not everyone is going to be drooling all over it. If you can't handle that, don't post a thread. It obviously doesn't seem to bother him much, why does it you?

Call it unnecessary as much as you like - I'm trying to save this kid a bucket of tickets and beating the snot out of his junk. The turbo is just going to love being blasted constantly from shots of cold air and raw dumped fuel.
Why not just put an anti-lag on it if it's a racecar? That will shoot flames. Nothing can go wrong.

Why not just throw a spark plug in the exhaust and rev the balls out of it upon start up to dump as much fuel as possible?
