So I've noticed that the issue of Global Windows is a very murky one on here. Some were able to do it, some were charged exorbitant amounts, some aren't sure it can be done on new models...

Well, I'm happy to say that as of yesterday my car has them!

I brought my 2016 ST3 into a dealership in Detroit (PM for name if interested as I'm not sure as to the nature of Ford's potential response to this) and after some head scratching and searching they were able to do it as part of my complimentary 1st service! Took all of 20-30 minutes too :)

As it turns out, Ford doesn't even include literature about global windows in the dealership service manuals for the Focus, but my tech said it's there for the Taurus. I can never begin to understand why Ford would seemingly try to lock us out of this awesome and convenient line of code, but after telling them where to look it was resolved!

If you're interested, PM me for the details of the dealership. They said they're willing to do it for anyone with our car now, for a fair price of course. I can also give you a personal reference as well.

Such a cool feature. I remember my friend showing it to me on his 2004 BMW 325ci a few years back, and I was like "whao, why don't all car's have this"

and when i found out you could do it on the FoST, I was like hell yeah!

It allows you to roll the windows up and down with the key fob. (or roll them up with the door sensor)
well **** with summer coming that's going to be handy as f, i need it

I read through that other forum, it was pretty unclear as to what is needed to be bought, I mean it tells you what you need in general, but like, exact links would be nicer to take the guess work out of it.
Pretty straightforward yet complicated.

There are videos on the process of what to do on youtube, but here are the components I bought to get it to work. My laptop did not have built in bluetooth so I bought a dongle for it https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DJ83070/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1. The OBDII adapter looks a little different now since I bought mine years ago but this is the one I bought.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NLQAHS/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

so bluetooth is definitely better than USB? It's cheap enough. Guess I better order one, my laptop has bluetooth so I'll be good.
