So this has happened a few times, I bought my 16 in June and immediately took it on a trip to Charleston, SC for an interview. Everything was fine until I got almost back home and I noticed that under throttle the intake is extremely loud. The car is completely stock, and everything sounded fine until that moment. It sort of comes and goes, most of the time 1st and 2nd gear sounds fine and it's only until I get into 3rd and higher that it changes. Car seems to run fine though, maybe a slight loss of power but nothing drastic. I checked to make sure that the intake was secured and didn't come loose and everything seems to be tight. If anyone has any insight that would be fantastic. Thanks!

Sound symposer?
I don't think so, it sounds like it is coming straight from the intake, I would think if it were the sound symposer that it would have done it from day one and it didn't. The other day it happened after I took it through the gears a couple times. I don't think that would have anything to do with it suddenly sounding like I have an aftermarket intake

How about a FAULTY sound symposer.
That's certainly what it sounds like.
There are many cases of failure, oddities.
Pull the tube for a day or two and see if it stops.

I feel like I don't hear it that much with the windows up, more so when they're down. Could this still be the same issue perhaps?

Is your intake filter fully on?

it sounds like the sound symposer. IMO it is a piece of junk mechanism that works when it wants to work. Thats why I removed mine before I even hit 1000 miles. Take 5 mins and remove the tube, or disconnect the harness from the module. see if the sound goes away.

Can you Record a video?

I can try, it'll be with my cell phone so I am not sure what kind of quality it will be. I thought about taking it to ford and having one of their techs listen but since it doesn't happen all the time I feel like it would be a waste as it would definitely not happen while they are trying to diagnose.

i unplugged the symposer and while i like the sound better, it still seems like it is making that noise. could it just be that i hadnt noticed it before and its normal? im getting the cobb cai tomorrow and installing it, im sure that its going to be louder anyways so i wonder if i should even worry about it?
