Error codes....where to start

As much as i hate to say it, I would retrace the mechanics steps and see if he damaged anything or left anything unplugged first.

Do you know why he prompted the clock spring replacement in the first place?
 
Okay. My theory is when he disconnected the steering shaft to remove the pedal, he didnt secure the steering wheel and let it turn multiple times, which would then lead to snapping the clockspring internally. It's s a coiled up rubbon of wire so it can only turn so many times in one direction before snapping the wires inside.
