My car hardly gets to the ideal temp (coolant temp) since new and the code p0128 (Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature) popped with a CEL recently. I took it to the dealer and they are blaming the grill shutters (or lack of) but I don't think so, as many of us have removed them and I haven't heard of someone with this trouble. Anyway, I had a mechanic check the thermostat and he says that it is working correctly, same with the coolant sensor. Does anyone have any idea of what can be causing this?

I've had my shutters off all winter and it still warms up in 5 minutes even below freezing. So it's def not the shutters. I would get a second opinion on that thermostat and sensor.
When you say "warms up in 5 minutes" what temp are you referring to?
