Plan on getting a CPE FMIC soon with an exhale kit before a Stratified e30 tune, but afterwards want to look into exhaust.

I really love the way the Cobb catback sounds and understand there are no real hp gains. However, based on better airflow and slight performance gain. Which would be best to get first? Getting both at the same time is probably not an option due to cost and impatience on my end lol.

Also cat or off-road?

You could really go either way. Just a downpipe will make the exhaust note louder and more rumbly. You could see how that goes first. Either way it will come out to the same cost. Are you doing the work yourself?

Well getting the stock DP off is tough, but if you have a lift you are in good shape. I don't know if there is any real benefit of doing one before the other honestly.

Do you want more hp/performance? Downpipe.
Do you want more sound? CBE.

Cat/no-cat question:
Do you get tested in your area for emissions?
If no: Catless
If yes: Catted (you might still fail)

Do you HATE the smell of a catless car?
If no: Catless (I love the smell)
If yes: Catted (You'll still smell it a little)

Edit: Also worth mentioning, if you go with DP and ansered no and no then another thing to help influence that you do catless is that the price is ridiculously cheap compared to catted. Depo Racing Catless for example is 200 bucks. Can't beat that.

Per Stratified a full turbo back exhaust should net 10-15whp, so I wouldn't say no real hp gains....not every mod can give 20+hp.

Yes, but you're implying that he is buying BOTH. Which I bought both, but bought the downpipe first for the gains then the catback afterwards and was told by Stratified not to update my tune for it because I'll get 0 gains.

Thanks everyone, downpipe it is! Does brand matter? Love the price on the depo catless but would prefer to have Cobb and CPe parts. Will overlook brand if performance and reliability is the same

For the downpipe, not really. I paid almost $600 for the MBRP catted DP, and it had slight fitment issues. I'm very happy with it, but almost all of the designs are the same. Anyway, even though you made up your mind it might be worth checking out the article I have below. It, and many other articles by reputable shops will recommend upgrading the DP first.
