So Got my CFM downpipe... Super excited to get it on... I had to wait nearly 5 days until I could get it in the shop to do it... We get the old one out, and the o2 sensor closest to the turbo strips out completely.. which I understand is a commonality to these downpipes... Anyone have any advice here other than "buy a new one"? Obviously... but they're freaking expensive... Now I can't drive my car until tomorrow when we get a new o2 sensor. Hopefully we can get one tomorrow... Anyway.. Thanks for.. for building a downpipe with the o2 sensor 6 inches from the turbo... Anyone else experience the same issue? Driving a '15 with 19k miles...

I just had a DP installed on my 2016 Focus ST3 and had to purchase a new O2 sensor. In my case there didn't really seem to be another option, but perhaps someone on the forum can make an alternate suggestion.

Thanks for your reply... Did you get a Ford one? OR aftermarket? What was the cost you had involved for just the 02 sensor?

I had the same thing happen,... covered and soaked in PB blaster for about an hour, tried to remove. wouldn't budge. soaked again. wouldn't move.
FINALLY muscled it out and smoked the thing. I ended up welding the 02 sensor to the factory downpipe and installing it back in the car.

I then ordered a new 02 sensor and did the downpipe install at a later date.

side note (I am now back to stock now and have the 02 sensor hanging on the wall in my shop.

I am assuming Ford cross threads a few of these 02 sensors. because I have done 8 downpipe installs now and the only one I had issues with was mine and I put more PB blaster on it then the rest and it had fewer miles on it.

mine half broke, it threaded back in... so in it went, haha

in the future... i hear that if you tighten it a click, before you loosen it... you have a better shot of getting it out with all the threads.

My O2 sensor never broke, what am I doing wrong???
once you have do more than one you might find one that is cross threaded. really no other way to explain why a 02 sensor would be stuck like that. The others came out with minimal effort. 1 of 8 for me isn't bad and I know I'm not the only person that has had issues.
