When installed and aimed in accordance with your state's regulations, the Driving pattern on our SS6 Stage Series 6" meets SAE J581 as a Driving/Auxiliary High Beam Light, and the Wide pattern meets SAE J583 as a Foglamp, for legal on-road use.

Please check your local laws and regulations for aiming, installation, and applicability.

Hi Nick,

Lighting sure has changed from the days when I ran quad Hella 2000 on my stage rally car!

I was wondering if DD has plans for a flushmount, square design, similar to the Baja Squadron Pro:
https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/squadron-pro-flush-mount-led-driving-combo.asp

I ask because I would prefer to make two cutouts in my 2013's center grille, to either side of my license plate, to flushmount a pair of driving beams -- rather than having a bar protrude out in front of the vehicle. That's fine for a proper stage rally car, but a daily driver I'd prefer something less likely to get banged or stolen.

Thanks!
Mark

Hello Mark,

Thank you for asking!

Our very own Matt Conte (of Team Conte Racing), has been designing new LED pod options for rally-use from the ground up. we are expecting those products to be available later this year. More updates and information will be posted as it becomes available.

The slim, low-profile design of our Stage Series light bars makes them perfect for installation in grilles and bumpers

Thanks!

After sanding the back of my grill I was able to mount mine (a 20 inch bar) directly to the crash bar there are some holes that are already in the crash bar and make for some pretty good mounting locations. I think the two holes in the bar that I used would also be perfect for you to use two pods, I believe they would put you directly on each side of the license plate. I don't think I lose much light shining through the grill. It makes for a very concealed and subtle set up it also doesn't block any air to the radiator, ford racing intake, or intercooler. Here in Oklahoma we don't need to have front license plates so for me it was the perfect set up. I also have the Diode Dynamics LED fog lights they were a huge improvement over stock and way more socially acceptable than running around with the 20 inch lightbar on!

Yes, we are required in Maine to have a front license plate, but there is that space on either side of the license plate that I could work with. It's about 5" wide on each side, and yes, cutting away a portion of the plastic crush piece (that clips to the crash bar and supports the back of the grille) on either side to fit a light is OK by me. When I was looking at the flush-mount Baja Squadron Pros, they are light enough that I feel like I could mount them on the grille (after cutting out a square to accommodate) and not have any visible vibration of the lamp.

Nice that we are getting more choices.

All the best,
Mark
