The other day the weather got bad enough to cause my windows to mist up for the very first time since I've had the car. I've been looking in the manual for demisters but can't seem to find anything. All I can find are defrosters. Don't say the demisters are all tied into the air conditioning unit; that I have to switch that on to demist my windscreen and rear window?

I have never heard of a demister and didn't even know the word existed...when my windows get foggy/misty? I turn on my defrost and it clears the entire car up in seconds. I may be misunderstanding what you're referring to..

I use defrost if its is cold out otherwise I use auto AC and either clears them right up. Happens a lot this time of year where I live, cool but humid mornings.

Always use the defrost with A/C on and it should clear you right up. The compressor, along with cooling the air, takes the humidity out as well.
