Well this happened back on Nov 29th on my way home from work, 5hrs before we were leaving for Australia. I was cruising down the interstate at dark and it ran in front of me so fast I didn't even have a chance to lift off the gas before hitting it. What scared me the most is that soon as I hit it my knees started hurting, dome lights came on, horn honking and emergency flashers came on. Which all that really confused me for a few until I looked down and noticed oh look, there's an airbag down there. What would cause the knee airbag to go off and not the wheel airbag? Just trying to figure out the purpose of the knee airbag actually, I'd assume they'd both go off at the same time but evidently not. Anyways, I ended up just having it towed home and locked it in my garage until we returned home. Hoping to get it back from the dealer this week. Ironically enough, I hit a deer in it last November as well. Hopefully this is the last incident for this poor girl.
She held up quite well for hitting it at freeway speeds, just glad I only hit half the deer... you'll see what I mean below :serious::shocked:

That REALLY sucks, my last car was totalled by the second deer I hit in it. I've seen ST's total with that amount of damage recently.
My ST is a driveway queen so damn paranoid this time of year.

Partout?

Dibs on that FMIC.

It has more damage actually than last year which cost 10k to fix. However the insurance company made me take it to a different dealer because mine wouldn't work with them on pricing. So now i'm at a shady dealer thats known for cutting corners and screwing people and they are claiming its only costing 6k to repair. So it will be a fun time when I go and look it over once they are finished. On a positive note, my dealer knows whats going on and since I have all the extended warranties on my car they told me to just bring it to them afterwards and they would make sure everything is taken care of.

Same ins lady also told me that the value of my car wouldn't have been effected from hitting the deer last year and then getting rear ended afterwards as long as the repairs were done properly. Not feeling to good about my ins company all the sudden..

haha yeah it messed it up alright. My buddy that showed up right afterwards was asking me how big the buck was cause of the scratches down the side of my car. I thought it was a doe because I never saw any horns, but we both kept looking at the car and then decided to go find the deer to confirm. It took me about a 1/4 miles to actually pull over due to everything that went on and me to process wtf just happened. Anyways after a short walk we found the back part of the deer on the side of the interstate and quickly figured out why the car looked how it did lol. The front of the deer was about 20ft over the bank next to the creek.

Are you going to be going to the meet up at Bethal Park in April? I think a few guys from down here are going to run up.

I haven't heard of it prior to you mentioning it now, the 3.5-4 hour drive is discouraging, but maybe come time that'll change haha.

Yea, it's a 3 hr drive from here as well. But I love a good road trip as long as weather is acceptable. I got the invite on FB, "BlackedOut Meet 2017 Kickoff" is what its called on April 22. May start asking around on the site and see if anyone is going here before long.

Wait, is this related directly to the BlackedOut Pittsburg group on Facebook? I'm in that group (6.7k members or so) and didn't get one. Now I'm intrigued as to why I didn't get one if so

'However the insurance company made me take it to a different dealer because mine wouldn't work with them on pricing'

Insurance companies can't make you take your car to a particular dealer or body shop. You can have the car fixed by the shop you choose.

I argued and argued.... but they said there was nothing they could do unless they took it somewhere else. They even told me I wouldn't even be able to pay the difference if I was willing to, and I never mentioned paying a difference.

My goodness! What insurance company was this, "The General?" I've only heard of a select few insurance companies possibly do that.. ( SafeCo, Bristol, The General, L.A. Insurance, etc)

I had an incident with some debris off a truck earlier this year and got the damage to my roof and bumper fixed in the fall by the insurance company preferred body shop. I was none too impressed by their workmanship. I had recently gotten an email from them asking if I was happy with their work and was thinking about how I was going to take it back to have it redone on my way home one night, when I hit a stupid deer two blocks from my house. Thankfully it was pretty low speed but it was still $3000 damage. I had the work done by a different shop (still one of their preferred places) and am pretty happy with it.

Interesting. I guess one of Flo's minions just was going to keep fighting to keep his realization number high... Sadly, it helps him keep his job.
