was wondering if anyone has any experience with the cxracing intercooler kit for our cars?

im not looking to spend a lot and $500 for hard pipes and a big intercooler is a great deal not to mention cxracing has great cores(had their intercooler for my mini cooper s, and eclipse gst)

was mainly wondering what fitment is like

Ugh, i always disliked their stuff. For the money, depo 3.5 inch core is quite a bit nicer. And has more room for expansion. With your goals in mind though, it may be fine. Personally, i never suggest it, or levels.

i plan on doing a sleeper build with a efr6758 and aux fueling and running flex fuel(if possible) or pump 91, i dont care too much about power, i just want something cheap(relative of course) that works decent enough, im mainly just trying to build a DD that doesn't fall flat on its face after 5500rpm

does depo also include intercooler piping with their intercooler or is that seperate?

Separate, but you kinda dont need charge pipes unless you are going pipe mounted bov. I would still consider a depo fmic. Its just too good for the money.

i heard the stock pipes were restrictive, if i dont need that for a big turbo then thats more money i can save, either way i dont plan on using a blow off valve, i want to keep it sleeper looking so stock airbox, depo intake tube, mountune bypass valve(or the stock one that comes with the EFR 6758 if thats good enough) and a catless downpipe(megan racing looks to be the winner here at $140) with the stock exhaust

im even going to spray paint the intercooler black to keep it stealth looking do you think the 3.5 depo will be enough or should i go for the 5.5 depo?

Well, the efr uses its own dp. So you shouldnt be shopping for one. Lol . (Buy it from edge auto, pm them first, and tactfully ask for a discount.)

Efr is the sleeper system. So, i would, run a depo 3.5. Unless you want to go bigger, then a 5.5. Geez im pushing Depo hard tonight. About time I ask for a kick back, lmao.

If you go depo, pm me. I have some pro tips for the install.

I have the depo 3.5 and had the charge pipes at one point. I also run the depo intake pipe.

Intercooler is awesome. Fitment was spot on with stock or their charge pipes. Keeps charge air temps down...nearly rock solid on a 4th gear pull on stock turbo or BT.

Charge pipes fit pretty well. I used an extra washer on the hard mount near the oil pan so it wouldn't rub/wear down over time.

Intake pipe fitment was meh... there's a mounting bracket near the hpfp that I ended up just cutting off so it fit right. It also was very close/rubbed one of the metal fuel lines in/on the hpfp, so I just put a piece of rubber hose there to isolate it. Despite the fitment issues, I guess I am OK with it for the price since it's literally just a piece of metal tubing and this car does not have a MAF or anything critical in the intake path. A the end of the day it works and is a good value.

In your shoes I would consider just using the stock charge pipes, I don't think they are THAT bad to be honest. Really depends on your power goals I guess.

There's my Depo reviews lol.

Lmao, at some point, you may want to start a thread just for yourself.

Buy better tbolt clamps. I prefer hps brand on amazon. For 2.5 inch piping. Paint their crap mounting brackets with a good paint, proper surface prep. Replace the crap hardware with stainless equivalents. They rust up big time.

I've been on this form for a while now and I still don't know where to go to start a thread or how to donate to become a supporting member. But I'm on here all the time.

Well sir, you are talking to the undercover mod with all the info you need.

https://www.focusst.org/forum/payments.php

It's a paypal linked subscription, that exponentially increases your pm boxes, and through some kind of black magic (seriously, we don't know who is doing it) you get focusst.org stickers.

https://www.focusst.org/forum/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=5

This will start you a new thread in the general St Discussion. Just for your concerns. You can ask whatever you need to. It's your thread. If someone gives you crap, I will sort them proper. No mercy. ;)

If you still have questions. Stratified tuning's website is a fantastic wealth of knowledge, that is easy to access. Alex and associates dig a stand up job with their blogs, and are still some of the best resources for our platform.

Additionally, if you get stuck between a rock, and a hard place, shoot me a pm. I will give you the pros and cons of your actions. Lay it all out there.

As far as general site navigation, I'm sorry, I would need a youtube video, or maybe @brian60 to show you. I just did the quick and dirty to get your immediate questions solved, via direct links.

PS Brian60 is a sucker. lmao

Yeah the first two links just bring me right back to the active topics. And the third link just takes me to my messages. I'll figure it out eventually.
