Just a heads up, hopefully I am posting it in the right area. A user "Girds" sold me a cobb AP v3 a couple weeks ago in the marketplace. I got it in the mail without the window mount (which he forgot to send and promptly said he would send it, still yet to receive weeks later) And the cobb was sold with a custom tune from stratified. When I got the cobb, the tune was locked to a 13-14 model year. It was right in the title, greyed out and un-selectable. I messaged him but he basically told me to stuff it and it was my problem not his, when he clearly advertised the cobb + tune. He admitted he was unaware the tune was locked to that model year but was not fair in negotiating a deal. I offered to send it back and let him re-sell it but to no avail.

Just a heads up to the forum members here that like to support the community.
Girds- Get back to me. I saw you dodge my PM earlier today.

That's not cool man, he should at least help you get the problem figured out. Even though technically it might not be his problem, he should still have the respect and integrity to help you out. I hope it gets figured out in the end

It's been weeks and I've basically given up hope on getting some money back for the tune that I can't use. I just want the window mount that should have been here by now, but hasn't made its way to my mailbox. I avoided posting about it because it makes me sound like a complainer lol. I just don't want anyone else to get screwed by him as well. Dude sold me a cobb+tune+window mount. I got the cobb and that's all. Surprised I got the cables too. Makes me sick knowing I basically paid $100usd more for literally less than other forum members are selling.

I don't see how he intentionally provided false information therefore it is his fault.

Here is the sale thread in question:
http://www.focusst.org/forum/parts-sale/58777-acessport-v3.html

Seems like he provided everything he stated. It is an ap3 with a stage 2 map on the ap3. Whether you can use the map is not his problem, he provided you everything. If you look at his signature it clearly states he owns a 2013. If you did proper research before purchasing a product you'd realize the 13-14 programming is different than the 15+.

Yeah .. you kinda need to ask the right questions before buying the item. He didn't sell it to you per se, you BOUGHT it from him....

Having said that, you should send the mafia over to his house to get that window mount !!!!!!

The other posters are kinda correct. If it is unmarried with a stage two tune for 13-14 it is a bit your fault. He did give you what he sold. Did you ever tell him you had a 16? It's pretty much common knowledge for posters here to know the 13-14 and 15-16 have different tunes. I almost purchased a AP3 and tune early in my ownership but did ask the seller if it would work on a 16.

Most all tuners lock their tune to a specific car for one. Also you should never use a tune designed for another car anyway.

They are locked to the specific AP by serial number, not to the car normally. However a "custom" tune for a specific car I wouldn't want to use on any other car as that could cause issues.

TBH if you bought an AP from me after I had it listed as such I would have done the same thing. You received the product just as advertised, nothing broken, no problems with the money transaction etc. I was unaware that the tune would be locked to 13-14 models, but it is not my job to research which year, trim package, etc that you have. If you had asked a question to me saying you had a 15+ that would be a different story. But as it stands it sounds like he did everything right.

Edit: Miss the fact that he didn't send the window mount. He should send that out as you paid for it.
