I have a boost leak because of my Boomba BOV not being fully secure and I cant tighten the bolts because they are stripped. So i ordered the GFB DVX BOV but it did not come with bolts. I believe I'm supposed to use the OEM bolts but i do not have them on hand.
Does anyone know where i can buy them or what the OEM size BOV bolts are?
No, its just the bolts themselves. Cause I was dumb and its so tight in that area I was trying super hard to get them tight and didn't realize I was stripping the bolt.
Thread is 17mm long. Is the BOV base is thicker than the OE then you have to add the difference. Also, need the right tool to get the job done right. I measured it. I think is 6mm=M6.
Those tools would've been really helpful when changing out the stock BPV. I used a standard length (5 or 6 inch long) ball-end Allen Key, and a pair of vice grips, which worked fine. I tightened them the same way (being careful not to over-tighten them) and used a drop of blue threadlocking compound, as the bolts that were installed from the factory had the residue of threadlocking compound on them.
For anyone that has the bolts in hand please measure the outer thread diameter. That is the bolt size. I think the video I saw is saying it's an M5 bolt based on using a 5mm Allen wrench to remove it... Bolts are sold based on thread size, not drive size.
Confirmed M6 a 100%. By 17mm long. You can stick in a piece of hanger wire to check how deep is the hole in case you only find a 20mm bolt (they are sold in 5mm increments) and can use a washer.
I just installed a turbosmart a couple of weeks ago and I think I still have my OEM bolts lying around... If you're willing to toss a few bucks my way for shipping and share your address with a stranger, I'll ship them your way.
I missed the part where England was a thing. Whoops.
