Hey everyone! I just bought my 2016 st a week ago and just installed a AF Dynamic cold air intake. After the install I now have weird turbo boost. My car will spool up to 7.5psi and then sit there for a second or two and then jump up to full boost. I install the kit to the T and i dont get it. Is there a chance I might have a bad boost leak from one of the couplings?

Maybe check to make sure your MAP sensor is seated properly and not obstructed or damaged.
If the MAF is dirty, you'll get a code like running too lean.
If the air filter is dirty, you'll get a code as well (not boosting to max capacity or w/e it is)

But ddfred is correct, best to check the MAF, and maybe clean it a little, just in case.

the ST is still boosting very differently so I found the sensor and the blue tip that hangs in the intake tube has a little white mark on it that looks like its burnt or something. Does everyone else have the same mark?
I cant find one on ebay, does anyone know where to pick this up at?

Just realized you are talking about the intake tube pre-turbo (I need to learn how to read), so you are dealing with an intake temperature sensor there. The MAP sensors are located on the cold side intercooler elbow, and on the intake manifold. In my opinion, the intake temp sensor is not likely to cause the boost issues you have described. Have you tried the KAM reset that another member above suggested? If you have a Cobb Accessport, you can do this through the menus. If you are stock, put your car in accessory mode (push the start button with the clutch let out), turn on the headlights, and disconnect the battery ground. Give the car about 15 minutes and then put everything back.

ford may be a good place to look. They arent cheap though, I want to say someone posted up getting one for around $115 a while back. I would return the car back to stock and see if the problem persists. If it goes away then there is something weird with your intake or your install

I did try the KAM reset and everything is still the same, there is something else attached to the intake pipe that is closer to the turbo and fire wall. it has a hard pipe and is 90'd right when it connects to the pipe. It has a circular plastic lock ring and it was hard to connect

that sounds like the recirculation for the bpv. that shouldn't have an effect on anything.

Update on whats going on. So I took rechecked everything from the install and everything is fine. I did another KAM reset and the car works just fine for about the first five miles, after that when I give it any kind of throttle even WOT boost goes up to 15psi and the the boost stays there for a couple seconds and then you can feel it trying to boost. Then it'll jump up to full boost 22.5psi in every gear. I have to keep unplugging my battery in order for it to work properly for just a few miles.

ill say this again, although you apparently dont want to hear it. Install the stock intake, as it was before it started doing this issue. If the issue goes away then you KNOW its in the intake. If it persists, take it to the dealer.

At least you can hit full boost. Lol! Mine only hits 18ish stock. Never has it come close in 3rd or 4th to the 3/4 mark. 1st and 2nd is 15 max.
